Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra
The foremost classic of Vedic natal astrology, given by Sage Parāśara to his disciple Maitreya as a dialogue: ninety-seven adhyāyas on the nature of the planets and signs, the ascendant and the divisional charts, the significations of the twelve houses, the daśā systems of planetary periods, yogas, and the reading of a birth chart house by house and planet by planet. The Adhyāyas अध्याय
The whole of the Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra as it has come down to us — ninety-seven adhyāyas, opening with the cosmology behind astrology's claim on the world and then setting out, in order, the planets, the signs, the ascendant, the divisional charts, the houses, the daśās and the yogas by which a birth chart is read. बृहत्पाराशरहोराशास्त्र का वह सम्पूर्ण भाग जो हम तक पहुँचा है — सत्तानबे अध्याय, जिनका आरम्भ उस सृष्टि-विवेचन से होता है जिस पर ज्योतिषशास्त्र का आधार टिका है, और फिर क्रमशः ग्रह, राशियाँ, लग्न, वर्ग-कुण्डलियाँ, भाव, दशाएँ और वे योग बताए गए हैं जिनसे जन्मकुण्डली पढ़ी जाती है।
