Every translation, gloss, guide and note on OccultGuide is the work of one person. This page says who, so that a reader knows whose judgement they are reading and where to write when it is wrong.
What I do here
I transcribe the received Sanskrit from printed witnesses, collate the witnesses against each other, split each verse into its words with a meaning in English and Hindi, translate it in plain language, and grade every claim the site makes against the passage it stands on. The rules are written down on the method page and every page is held to them.
I am a software engineer by trade, not a guru and not a sādhaka. I do not teach practice, initiate anyone, or sell remedies, consultations or pūjās. The site exists because this field is unusually full of misinformation and unusually short of primary texts that ordinary readers can check for themselves.
Languages and sources
Sanskrit and Hindi, with Bengali for the texts that survive in Bengali-script prints. Translations are my own; where a reading is doubtful it is kept as received and the doubt is recorded, never resolved by guesswork.
