A working manual of dharma — the rite for the day, the exception that overrides it, and whom each applies to. It settles what the tantra corpus does not touch: which observance falls on which tithi, how a vrata is begun and broken, what a saṃskāra requires, and the deśa-kāla-gotra-nāma of the saṅkalpa that opens any of them. Our own translation, verse by verse — a work still in progress.

प्रथमः परिच्छेदः
The First Pariccheda प्रथम परिच्छेद
Time itself before anything is done in it — the reckoning of the year, the month, the pakṣa and the tithi, and the rules that decide which day an observance belongs to. सबसे पहले काल का निर्णय — संवत्सर, मास, पक्ष और तिथि की गणना, तथा किसी व्रत या कर्म का दिन निश्चित करने के नियम।

The Second Pariccheda द्वितीय परिच्छेद
The observances of the year, tithi by tithi and month by month — when each falls, what is done, and which reading prevails where the almanacs disagree. वर्ष भर के व्रत और पर्व — तिथि और मास के क्रम से, उनका काल, उनकी विधि, और मतभेद होने पर कौन-सा पक्ष ग्राह्य है।
तृतीयः परिच्छेदः
The Third Pariccheda तृतीय परिच्छेद
The rites of a life and of a death — the saṃskāras from conception to marriage, then śrāddha, the impurity periods and the obligations the living owe the dead. Printed in two halves; carried here as one pariccheda. जीवन और मृत्यु के कर्म — गर्भाधान से विवाह तक के संस्कार, फिर श्राद्ध, सूतक-पातक और पितरों के प्रति कर्तव्य। मुद्रण में दो अर्ध, यहाँ एक ही परिच्छेद।
