Kul Bhairav as the first recourse when pitr are held in bandhan
A kula sadhak may become the kul Bhairav after death
The speaker says that once you learn — through a dream or from a knowledgeable person — that your Pitr are in Bandhan and mishaps, suffering and stalled progress follow from it, the first and most distinctive thing to do is to take the help of the Bhairav of your own kula, if you know him. Wherever there is a kuldevi there is certainly a Kula Bhairava; every kula has one, subtly or manifestly, and kul Bhairavs are powerful enough to cut every kind of bandhan. He explains that a sadhak of the kula who did high sadhana may, after death, receive the post of kul Bhairav by the devi's Kripa, which is why he becomes a cause of sadgati for the pitr and the kula shaktis alike. So by his puja, archana, seva and anushthan the kul pitr are freed from bandhan.
The speaker starts from the moment a person comes to know, by any medium — a dream, or some knowledgeable person — that his Pitr are bound, on account of which many mishaps are happening in his life, suffering is coming and progress has stopped. His subject is what such a person does himself, without anyone else's help, to free the pitr from Bandhan. The first and most distinctive thing, he says, is to take the help of the Bhairav of your own kula, if you have knowledge of him. If there is a kuldevi there will certainly be a Kula Bhairava; every kula has one, whether in subtle or in manifest form. Kul Bhairavs are powerful and capable of cutting every kind of bandhan. Just as Bhairavs are the guardians of the Shakti Peeths, Bhairav ji is given a place for the protection of the kula shaktis. He adds a claim he attributes to those who have gained Divyadrishti in the tantra field — people with real knowledge, not mere boastfulness and pakhand: a sadhak of the kula who has done high-order sadhana may, in course of time after death, obtain the post of kul Bhairav by the devi's Kripa. That is why such a one becomes a cause of sadgati for the pitr and also for the devatas and the kula's devi shaktis. So if the pitr are in bandhan and you know your kul Bhairav, then by his puja, archana, seva and anushthan you free the kul pitr from the bandhan. If you do not have this knowledge, he goes on to other methods.
Precaution: never use pitr mantras directly when the pitr are bound
A preta seated with the pitr eats the offering
The speaker warns never to go with half knowledge and use mantras connected with the Pitr directly to free them from Bandhan. If the pitr are bound, you do not know what shakti was sent in Abhichara or what Preta shakti a tantric may have seated alongside them; any anushthan of a pitr mantra then reaches that negative shakti instead of the pitr. You would be doing the puja correctly, he says, but someone else would be taking it.
The second point, the speaker says, is a precaution: to free the kul Pitr from Bandhan, never go in with half or incomplete knowledge and use mantras connected with the pitr directly. The reason he gives is that if the pitr are bound, you do not know what shakti was sent against them in Abhichara, what tantra-mantra was done, or what tantric person did the kriya — and along with the pitr, who knows what Preta shakti may also have been seated. When you then perform an anushthan of any pitr-related mantra, it will not reach the pitr; it will begin to reach that negative shakti instead. He says this was made clear earlier in his pitr playlist: how the pitr are removed and negative shaktis are given their place, and how the kula shaktis are removed and negative shaktis are seated there. You would be doing the puja-path correctly, but someone else would be receiving it. So their mantras are never to be used directly; the safe way, he says next, goes through Bhagavan Dattatreya.
Why Dattatreya is the safe channel for offerings to bound pitr
Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh in one, filtering the fruit
The speaker says Bhagavan Dattatreya is a mahashakti in whom the complete form of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh is seated. If you take refuge in him and do Tarpana for the Pitr through his 108-name namavali, a medium is created by his Kripa through which the fruit of every auspicious act reaches only your own kul pitr; any Preta shakti present with them gets nothing. It is filtered, he says, so the right thing reaches the right one.
Having warned against using pitr mantras directly, the speaker turns to how it is to be done: through mantras of Bhagavan Dattatreya. Bhagavan Dattatreya, he says, is such a shakti — a mahashakti — in whom the complete form of all three, Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, is seated. If by his kripa you take refuge in him, and use what is connected with him — he has spoken of the Dattatreya mala mantra elsewhere — and perform TarpanaA libation offering of water or other substances made to a deity or ancestor, typically performed alongside Havan and Marjan. for the Pitr through his 108-name namavali, then by Datt's Kripa a medium is created such that the fruits of all the auspicious acts reach your own kul pitr only. If some Preta shakti is present with them, it will not get that thing. In his words, it is strained through a sieve and the right thing goes straight to the right one. This is his reason for routing all the pitr work in this video through Dattatreya.
Dattatreya 108-name milk tarpan under a peepal, bargad or bel tree to free bound pitr
Day, tree, dress, who performs, materials, sankalp, pouring, schedule
The speaker prescribes a Tarpana of Bhagavan Dattatreya's 108 names for bound Pitr, begun on any Thursday, Amavasya or Poornima under a Peepal, Bargad or Bilva tree at a place where worship is done, never a lonely tantra-mantra spot. Raw milk with Gangajal and dissolved Mishri is taken in a brass or silver lota (not copper, especially for a woman), at least half a litre or a paav, and poured at the root with a leaf of the tree or a silver spoon at each namah of the 108 names, after a sankalp with name and Gotra, Akshat, a flower and a one- or ten-rupee coin. White cloth is worn; a woman wears a white saree with a border and a full Ghunghat, for women must never do pitr work without ghunghat. A man of the house is best; failing him the badi bahu, then the chhoti bahu. It is done Amavasya after Amavasya, not daily, and after three Amavasyas he expects the kripa to begin and the pitr to show themselves in dreams.
Day, tree and site. The speaker says to begin from any Thursday, any Amavasya or any Poornima, seated under a PeepalA sacred fig tree dedicated to Lord Dattatreya — Pitru Tarpan performed beneath it calms agitated ancestral spirits causing domestic unrest. tree, a BargadThe banyan, a tree under which certain prayogas are set and at which spirits are said to abide. tree, or else a BilvaThe sacred Bael tree associated with Lord Shiva — sadhana is undertaken beneath it, its wood is used as fuel for Havan offerings of ghee and sesame seeds during a release ritual, and its trifoliate leaf (Bilvapatra) is the offering proper to Him. tree. The 108-name namavali of Bhagavan Dattatreya is easily found on the internet, he says. The tree must be one where pujan-path is done, near a temple or the like — do not go to some deserted tantra-mantra place. Dress and who performs. Seated on the asan you wear white cloth only. A woman wearing a white saree wears one with a border and certainly keeps a GhunghatThe veil drawn over the head, required in certain rites and forbidden in others.; women must never do any work for the pitr without ghunghat. If a man of the house does it, that is most excellent. If no man of the house is capable, or in a condition to do it, or willing, and the work is for the family's welfare, the household's bahu may do it — the badi bahu especially; if she will not, then the chhoti bahu — with a full ghunghat of the kind household bahus take, not merely the aanchal placed on the head. Materials. The lota should be brass or silver, not copper — for a woman especially; for a man copper will do, but try for brass. At least half a litre of milk; if not, a paav will do comfortably. Pour with a silver spoon, which is best, or with a leaf of the peepal, bargad or bel you sit under. In the hand take AkshatUnbroken raw rice grains, held in hand along with water and flowers while taking a Sankalpa., a flower and a one-rupee or ten-rupee coin. Sankalp. Pronouncing your own name and GotraA family's patrilineal lineage name, stated together with one's own name during a Sankalpa., say that for the sake of the pitr of your kula — that they may have sadgati and tripti, and that from whatever tantric process they have been bound they may be released — you take the sankalp of a milk TarpanaA libation offering of water or other substances made to a deity or ancestor, typically performed alongside Havan and Marjan. of Bhagavan Dattatreya; and pray to him to free, nourish and satisfy your kul pitr so that the family prospers and receives their blessing. Then place the akshat, flower and coin at the root of the tree, and salute your guru if you have one, Ganpati, your kula devi-devatas and the devi-devatas of the place. The pouring and the schedule. Draw milk from the lota one measure at a time and pour it on the root at each name — as with the first names, 'Shri Dattatreyaya namah', 'Shri Anusuya-putraya namah', the milk going on the root as namah is said. Do this Amavasya after Amavasya; it is not to be done daily, and Amavasya is best. After three Amavasyas have passed, he hopes and expects the kripa will begin and the Pitr, freed of Bandhan, will start showing themselves through dreams. The whole tarpan takes hardly five minutes.
Datt mala mantra recited 27 times after the tarpan, with a white flower and five camphors
The second prayoga at the same seat
The speaker says that seated under the same tree, right after the Dattatreya milk tarpan, you recite the dattatreya-mala-mantra 27 times holding a white flower, then offer that flower at the root of the Peepal or bargad in Bhagavan Dattatreya's name. Then place five Kapoor pieces with one Laung on each — single cloves, never a pair — light them, pray to Dattatreya and return home.
The second prayoga, the speaker says, is the Datt mala mantra. It is done seated under the same tree, after the tarpan, which takes hardly five minutes. Take a white flower in the hand and recite the dattatreya-mala-mantra 27 times. Then offer that flower at the root of the same PeepalA sacred fig tree dedicated to Lord Dattatreya — Pitru Tarpan performed beneath it calms agitated ancestral spirits causing domestic unrest. or bargad tree in the name of Bhagavan Dattatreya. Then burn clove and camphor: keep five KapoorCamphor, burnt at the close of worship. and place one LaungClove, used in offering and in small prayogas. on each — not in pairs, one clove each — light them, pray to Bhagavan Dattatreya and come back home.
Why Hanuman can free pitr from every kind of bandhan
He who freed Shri Ram can free ordinary people
The speaker's second upaya for bound Pitr is the prayoga of Hanuman ji, who he says is so all-powerful even today that everyone should know he can free from the Bandhan of every kind of shakti; the tantra granths describe him freeing all from bandhan. If he could free Bhagavan Shri Ram — even if that is held to be by Ram's kripa — what can he not do for ordinary people like us. The Hanuman Chalisa or the bajrang-baan can be used, and even without the Bajrang Baan the Chalisa alone can free the pitr.
The second upaya for freeing the Pitr from Bandhan, the speaker says, is the prayoga of Hanuman ji. Hanuman ji is so all-powerful and all-capable, even in today's time, that everyone should know he is able to free from the bandhan of every kind of shakti. The tantra granths describe many times how he freed everyone from bandhan. He who can free Bhagavan Shri Ram from bandhan — though people hold that it was by Shri Ram's kripa — what can he not do for you and me, ordinary human beings. So the prayoga is of the Hanuman Chalisa or the bajrang-baan; and even if you do not use the Bajrang Baan, you can free the pitr from bandhan with the Hanuman Chalisa alone. The havan he prescribes with it follows.
Hanuman Chalisa havan of guggul and ghee begun on Amavasya to free bound pitr
Women offer guggul only; smoke shown through the house
The speaker's Hanuman Chalisa Havan for bound Pitr begins on Amavasya: first offer a Langot and chola at a Hanuman temple, then at home, fasting till noon (or on Phalahar), from about 11 o'clock light an agiyari of well-lit cow-dung Upla, take the sankalp with akshat and flower after remembering guru and Ganpati, and give one Ahuti of Guggul mixed with ghee for each chaupai of the Chalisa. A man offers both ghee and guggul; a woman offers guggul only, never ghee, and keeps a Ghunghat. Close with one ahuti each for Ram, Sita, the four brothers, Shiva and Parvati, show the smoke through the whole house and set the fire near the main door. Best done daily from Amavasya to Amavasya; otherwise every Amavasya, or on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Beginning. The speaker says to begin from the Amavasya tithi. On the first day go to a Hanuman temple, offer a LangotThe loincloth offered to Hanuman and Bhairav., put a chola on him, do pujan and come home. The prayoga is done at midday; eat and drink nothing until then, or take PhalaharThe fruit-only diet kept during a vrat in place of grain. if you cannot. Start at ten or eleven, at least by 11 o'clock. Sankalp and fire. Take akshat and flower in hand, remember guru and Ganpati, and take the sankalp: 'Hanuman ji, to free the pitr from bandhan I take the sankalp of a Havan of your Hanuman Chalisa.' Light the agiyari — cow-dung UplaThe dried cow-dung cake burnt as the fire-base in havan and in outdoor prayogas. burnt so that they are thoroughly alight. Ahutis. Mix GuggulA fragrant resin burnt as dhoop or mixed with ghee for ahutis, used heavily in protective and prosperity rites. and ghee; the mixture is quite thick, so draw it with a spoon. Read the Hanuman Chalisa one chaupai at a time and put an Ahuti on the fire for each. A man offers with both ghee and guggul. A woman doing it for her pitr offers with guggul only and is not to give ahuti with ghee; and here too she does the prayoga with a GhunghatThe veil drawn over the head, required in certain rites and forbidden in others. taken. Closing and the smoke. When the ahutis are complete, give one ahuti each in the name of Ram ji and Sita ji, then in the names of the four brothers, then one each in the names of Shiva and Bhagavati Parvati. Show the rising smoke — or the fire even if there is no smoke — thoroughly through the whole house, bring it to the main door and set it down there. Schedule. Begin on Amavasya and, if you continue daily right up to the next Amavasya tithi, that is most excellent; otherwise keep doing it every Amavasya tithi, or on Tuesdays and Saturdays. He calls this very effective.
Jwalamukhi stone prayoga at a Kali temple to free bound pitr
A last resort; the stone is never touched by hand
The speaker's third remedy is a Tantrokta Prayoga to be tried only after many others have failed, since it needs a hard-to-get item: a jwalamukhi stone, sold at some puja shops at a high price. On Amavasya, bathe it in Gangajal and have the pandit place it on the right foot of Kali in a temple at least 12 years old; take the sankalp and do japa of the first mantra of the Argala Stotra for at least a sava ghanta. Neither you nor the pandit (paid daan-Dakshina for this) may touch the stone: push it with a Peepal leaf onto a second peepal leaf, tie it in yellow or white cloth, and hang it outside the main door on the side that falls to your right as you enter, with daily dhoop-deep to Kali reciting the same mantra. Its sudha shakti frees the pitr from however great a Bandhan; a genuine stone finishes the work in one go, though whether the freed pitr then become active for you is, he says, a separate matter.
When to use it. The third prayoga for freeing the Pitr from Bandhan, the speaker says, is a TantroktaStated in the tantras, as against a vedokta form of the same rite or mantra. one done at a temple of Bhagavati Kali. It needs items that are ordinarily not available, so it should be done only when you have already done many prayogas and are getting no effect. The item is a stone called the jwalamukhi stone; ask at a puja shop — it is somewhat expensive, but there is a chance of getting it, and if you do, that is excellent. At the temple. Take the stone to a Kali temple that is at least 12 years old, have it bathed with GangajalWater from the Ganges, used to purify and re-consecrate ritual items exposed to impurity., and have the pandit ji place it at Bhagavati Kali's feet — on the dakshin charan, her right foot. Having taken the sankalp for the release of the pitr, do japa of the first mantra of the Argala Stotra there for at least a sava ghanta. This is done on the Amavasya tithi only. The no-touch rule. You are not to touch the stone; keep this in mind. Give the pandit ji daan-DakshinaThe offering made to a guru or officiant that completes a rite; a ritual is held incomplete without it. and settle with him that he too does not touch it. Take a PeepalA sacred fig tree dedicated to Lord Dattatreya — Pitru Tarpan performed beneath it calms agitated ancestral spirits causing domestic unrest. leaf: push the stone off the foot with the leaf itself onto a second peepal leaf, and tie it up in a yellow or a white cloth. At home. Bring it to the main entrance door. The side that falls to your right when you enter from outside — your left when you go out — on that side hang it, on the outer side, at the time of entering. After that, do dhoop and deep daily in Bhagavati Kali's name while reciting the first mantra of the Argala. What it does. The sudha shakti in it does the work, he says, and frees the pitr from however great a bandhan they are in. It is a tested prayoga, but the stone is hard to find; if a genuine one is found, the work is completed in one go. He adds a caveat: the pitr being freed of bandhan is one thing; whether they then become active, and what kind of work they will do for you, is a separate subject. With this he closes the three chief prayogas of the video.
