Chapter 327·Rāma in his wedding dress·Verses 1–
Rāma's dark body is naturally lovely, shaming a million Kāmas. His lotus feet, tinged red, hold the bees of sages' minds. His yellow dhoti outshines the young sun and lightning, with a lovely girdle and ornaments on his long arms. A yellow sacred thread, a ring on his hand, a necklace on his broad chest, a yellow upper cloth with pearls on its ends, lotus eyes, fine earrings, a face that is a treasury of beauty, fine brows and nose, a mark on the forehead, and a crown of strung pearls and jewels. The women of the city and the heavenly women break straws against the evil eye as they see him, and wave jewels, cloth and ornaments over him, while bards and singers praise him. The brothers and brides are led to the bridal chamber, where the women happily do their customs, and Gaurī and Sarasvatī teach Rāma and Sītā the morsel-game. Sītā sees her own groom's form in the jewel on her hand and, afraid of losing sight of it, will not move her arm. The friends take the pairs to the lodging. Blessings are heard everywhere that day: 'Live long, lovely four pairs!' Siddhas, yogis and gods strike drums and go to their worlds, scattering flowers. The four princes with their brides come to their father, and the lodging seems to brim with beauty, joy and good fortune.

The crown strung with great jewels and all his lovely limbs stole every heart. The women of the city and the heavenly women, seeing the groom, broke straws to ward off the evil eye.
The princes and princesses were brought to the bridal chamber, and the married women, finding joy, began with great love the worldly customs and auspicious songs. Gaurī teaches Rāma the morsel-game, and Sarasvatī teaches Sītā; the women's quarters, lost in laughter and play, all gain the fruit of their births.
