The arrow, sent by a mantra, chases the crow. He runs to his father, to Brahmā's world, to Śiva's city and to every other world, and no one will shelter him, for no one can protect an enemy of Rāma. Nārada sees him in distress and, moved by pity, sends him back to Rāma. He falls at Rāma's feet and begs for protection. Rāma, who is kind, takes one of his eyes and lets him go.मंत्र से प्रेरित ब्रह्मबाण कौए के पीछे दौड़ा। वह अपने पिता के पास, ब्रह्मलोक, शिवपुर और सब लोकों में भागा, पर किसी ने उसे बैठने तक को न कहा, क्योंकि राम के द्रोही को कोई नहीं बचा सकता। नारद ने उसे व्याकुल देखा तो दया करके तुरन्त राम के पास भेज दिया। उसने चरण पकड़कर रक्षा माँगी। दयालु राम ने उसकी एक आँख लेकर उसे छोड़ दिया।

He lost all hope, and fear filled his heart, as it filled the sage Durvāsā when the discus chased him. He wandered in weariness and terror, through Brahmā's world, Śiva's city and all the worlds.

No one even asked him to sit. Who can protect an enemy of Rāma? Listen, Garuḍa: to him mother is like death, father like Yama, and nectar becomes poison.

Friends become a hundred enemies, and the heavenly river becomes the river of hell. The whole world burns hotter than fire for him who turns from Raghuvīra. Listen, brother.

घबराकर और डरकर उसने जाते ही चरण पकड़ लिए: 'रक्षा कीजिए, रक्षा कीजिए, दयालु रघुराई! आपका बल और आपकी प्रभुता अतुलनीय है। मैं मन्दबुद्धि उसे जान न सका।'
In fear and haste he caught Rāma's feet. 'Save me, save me, O kind Raghurāī! Your strength and your greatness are beyond measure. In my dull mind I did not know them.'
