Chapter Ten · The Teaching of Oṃ · Verses 1–39

Śiva sets out his five acts and the five faces that bear them, then, to end Brahmā and Viṣṇu's forgetful pride, formally initiates them into the praṇava — born as A, U, M, bindu and nāda from his five mouths and fused into one syllable — and into the pañcākṣara mantra born from it. He fixes Ārdrā caturdaśī as their day of power, declares the liṅga senior to the image in worship, and then vanishes.
