The king saw his sons, took them to his heart, and they sat down gladly with his leave. Seeing Rāma, the whole assembly was cooled, counting the gain for their eyes as the highest. Then Vasiṣṭha and Kauśika came, and the sages were given lovely seats. With their sons, the king worshipped and fell at their feet, and the two gurus loved to see Rāma. Vasiṣṭha tells the history of dharma, and the king with the women's quarters listens. Viśvāmitra's deeds, beyond the reach of sages' minds, Vasiṣṭha gladly tells in many ways. Vāmadeva says it is all true, and that the fame of Rāma and his brothers fills the three worlds. Hearing it, all are glad, and Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa feel greater joy at heart.
