बाल केलि तेहिं सुख माना
The guru gave the names after thinking, and said the four sons are the essence of the Vedas, the wealth of sages and everything to their people. Rāma took joy in childhood games. From childhood Lakṣmaṇa loved Rāma's feet, and Bharata and Śatrughna had the love of Lord and servant. The mothers watched the two beautiful pairs, dark and fair, and broke straws to ward off the evil eye. All four were homes of good character, yet Rāma surpassed them. बचपन से ही लक्ष्मण ने राम को अपना हितकारी और स्वामी जानकर उनके चरणों में प्रीति मानी। भरत और शत्रुघ्न दोनों भाइयों में स्वामी और सेवक जैसी प्रीति थी, जिसकी बड़ाई की जाती है।
