Who is Sri Yantra worship intended for, and what should ordinary householders use instead?
It requires formal initiation into the Sri Kula tradition and Navavarana Puja knowledge — it is not a general wealth symbol; ordinary householders should limit themselves to basic Yantras or simple worship of their family deity.
Why is the Sri Yantra not given out freely?
Sri Yantra belongs specifically to Shri Vidya and its kul-parampara, to be served with the reverence due a kulavadhu, not hung as decoration. For a general wish tied to wealth, a Lakshmi Yantra or Ashta Lakshmi Yantra is given instead; students in his own teaching first complete six months to a year of preliminary seva before being brought forward, a few at a time, to learn mandal puja.
Omkar sadhana with the Omkar yantra
The speaker says that for Omkar sadhana one must keep an Omkar Yantra, for Trataka or for pujan; it is made like a Bisa yantra and gives the most fruit on silver. With the yantra made, do the japa of Omkar by vidhi-vidhan — either the long japa with the full utterance of A, U and M, or as large a count as possible — and it has a very special effect; much can be attained through that yantra. He cites Nathuram Godse as an example of what trataka can do, saying a biography he read in his college library described his third eye, the pineal gland, as awakened from childhood, that he entered dhyan easily, did Omkar dhyan and trataka on the Sri Yantra worshipped in his house, and was a high-level sadhak of his time. In A-U-M, he says, everyone is included — Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh — and the ardha-chandra and bindu above are Bhagavati, so all worship is done in it.
What should be done if there is no vigrah of Lakshmi in the house?
The speaker says he has written and said many times: keep in the house, from this Diwali, a vigrah or a beautiful picture of Bhagavati Lakshmi, the shakti who is the complete Shri form endowed with the Shri tattva. And if even then there is no wish for it, then do the pujan of the form of the Devi that you already keep, endowed with the Shri tattva. There is no difficulty.
What is supreme in Shri kula on this night?
Turning to which shaktis move most swiftly, and looking at Shri kula before Kali kula, the speaker says that in Shri Vidya the archan of Bhagavati and of the Shri Yantra is supreme of all. Whether you are of Bhagavati Bala, of Bhagavati's Panchadashi, or of Bhagavati's Shodashi — in whichever your diksha occurred — if you are initiated and know the chakrarchan procedure properly.
Can Durga's avaran pujan be done on a Shri Yantra installed by a brahmin?
Asked whether the avaran pujan of Ma Durga ji can be done on a Shri Yantra whose pujan and installation was done by a brahmin, the speaker answers: no. When Bhagavati's Shri Yantra is seated there, then you will be initiated in Shri Vidya and will perform her archan and pujan alone — you will do that of Bhagavati Lalitamba.
The Shri Yantra mandal pujan is never given online, and "amuk" there names the enemy, not yourself
On the vidhi of the mandal pujan of the Shri Yantra and the vidhan of its sadhana, he tells Civil Mitra ji that it will never be possible — that online and on video, on the channel, it will simply never be possible. Asked whether one should put one's own name in place of the word "sadhak" in Mahabhairav, he says: in Mahabhairav, in the maximum of places, that is the enemy's name; the uccharan of the enemy's name is to be done there. If you are doing siddhi, then do not take anybody's name there; and in however many places the uccharan of a name is done it is "amuk" — in the maximum of places it is kill amuk, so how will you put your own name there? Putting your own name means you will use the Mahabhairav prayoga upon yourself. Do not make this mistake; for now do the siddhi with "amuk" itself, and when it is used, then in place of amuk the enemy's name is taken.
Shri Chakra pujan belongs to those holding the Shri Yantra deeksha; attempted uninitiated it attaches great dosha, and the speaker refuses all support for it.
If you have obtained the deeksha of the Shri Yantra and know Shri Chakra pujan, certainly do that too in these days. But if you do not have the deeksha of the Shri Chakra and, being uninitiated, you attempt this act, then great dosha will attach — and the speaker says plainly that they can never give their cooperation or support in such things, that it is wrong.
Its vidhi and prayogas are too intricate to perform unlearnt, whereas the simpler Durga yantra and chakra pujan carry no dosha for one who knows them.
Because its whole vidhi-vidhan and all its prayogas are intricate — without having learnt it you will not be able to perform it, and dosha will attach. Apart from that, the yantra of Bhagavati Durga, which is somewhat simpler to do, and her chakra pujan and the like — if you know those, you may do them, and in that there is no dosha upon you.
Who has the adhikar to worship a Sri Yantra?
The first subject is this, the speaker says: the adhikar of the pujan of the Sri Yantra belongs to sadhaks and sadhikas initiated in Shri Vidya. The pujan of the Sri Yantra will be done according to the vidhi that is told by guru adesh. Mantra-less pujan of the Sri Yantra does not generally happen. At the least it is done by the Guru Paduka mantra, and by the mantra of whoever it is in Shri Vidya that you have received diksha of. That is the view, that is the subject, he says; for the rest, whether you accept this subject or not is your wish.
What should be done with the yantra when the household worshipper must travel?
A listener says nobody else in her house does any puja — not her mother-in-law, father-in-law or husband — and that she must go to her maternal home for some days, and asks by what vidhi to take it. If nobody in the house is going to do the daily abhishek and panchopachar pujan, the speaker says, then to take it along, a change of place, the transgressing of the threshold, is not proper. Nor can you leave them. You can do one thing: take a red cloth, of pure cotton, and scent it by applying itr and the like. Wrap the yantra on all four sides — that is, cover them with that cloth. Show dhoop and deep. And make a prayer to them that after so many days, when I come, I will again do your seva and pujan.
What should be done for money troubles — Shri Suktam or Kanakdhara?
Asked about the Shri Suktam and the Kanakdhara Suktam, their use, the installation of a Shri Yantra and the Kanakdhara Yantra, and for how long and on which path one should walk, he tells Uday Pratap ji that if you wish to walk the Vedic path — because these are Vedic suktas — then you should know the correct pronunciation of the Shri Suktam. If you wear the yajnopavit and are initiated, that is most excellent; only then, doing prayogas of this kind correctly, will you obtain benefit. Otherwise, if this is not so, you should recite Bhagavati Lakshmi's Indrakrit Ashtalakshmi Stotra or the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam, and you will obtain benefit from that as well.
Who has the right to worship the Shri Yantra?
Without diksha in the Shri Kula, the speaker tells Komal Parewa, no one can be entitled to its pujan. Ordinarily you may do this much: perform their abhishek daily with the Tantrokta Devi Suktam and do the shringar. Their grace and blessing will remain through that too. And if someone in the family takes diksha in the Shri Kula, learns the whole subject in the proper manner and then performs their pujan, that is excellent.
Should a Shri Yantra be kept at home without Shri Vidya diksha?
He says the Shri Yantra will now be found house to house — such a profound thing, whose yantrarchan and the rest is very difficult without Shri Vidya diksha. But how many houses will you find in which a Shri Yantra is kept? The Shri Yantra has been marketed the most. Ask who and who is worshipped in it, in the middle — they do not know. How many kinds of Shri Yantra there are — they do not know. They know only that it is the yantra of Lakshmi ji.
A mantra is the deity's body in sound; infused into a geometric diagram, the same shakti becomes a yantra.
A mantra is understood as the deity's subtle body in phonetic form — sustained japa is said to bring the practitioner into complete identification (advaitam) with the mantra's consciousness — and when the same mantra-shakti is infused into a geometric diagram, it becomes a yantra, a two-dimensional counterpart used in worship and meditation, such as the Sri Yantra of the Srividya tradition.
A yantra-archak sadhak complained that nothing at all, good or bad, was happening to him in the Kalika Yogini sadhana.
A very good sadhak messaged him that day saying that in the Kalika Yogini sadhana everyone's experiences have been posted, but nothing at all, good or bad, is happening to him — and that he would at least have had the satisfaction if something wrong had happened. Think of it, the speaker says: people are so stuck behind experiences that they say they would be pleased even if something went wrong. And this is a sadhak of a very high level, who performs the archan of the tantrokta yantra so well.
What should be considered in making a Shri Yantra?
Asked about the construction of a Shri Yantra, the speaker says: discuss this matter with those from whom you will have it made. It can be had made according to the janma nakshatra.
What determines the time for making a Shri Yantra?
For the construction of a Shri Yantra, the speaker repeats, ask once those from whom you are having it made. If you are dikshit — dikshit in Shri Vidya — then according to the nitya in whose diksha you have been given, or according to which krama you are at now, whether Ekakshari or Tryakshari, your guru ji will tell you. Or the day of Purnima is the chief; it is had done on Purnima, and on Trayodashi too it happens. For them, the subject is not so much of tithi: it is necessary to look at the sadhak's janma nakshatra and the like, and it is had done accordingly, looking at the Chandrama and the nakshatra. So it will depend on that.
What besides japa may be performed on Holika night?
Besides naam jap and mantra jap, sahasrarchan and the mandala pujan of yantras. Of the Shri Yantra in particular there is a great mahima; so too of the Saptashati mandala yantra of Bhagavati Durga, and of Mahakali together with her full fifteen nityas — sixteen nityas — when the archan of her complete yantras is performed along with the purva nityas. Of that it is said that kripa is obtained in a single night.
May an uninitiated person perform Shri Yantra pujan?
There is so much rule for Shri Yantra pujan, he says, and people understand nothing of the Shri Yantra. One correspondent asked him in which shastra it is written that an uninitiated person cannot do Shri Yantra pujan, saying she is the Mother, everyone's puja is by seva and by bhava. His answer: if you want to do it by bhava, then do the archan of her Shri Vigraha. If you want to do the pujan of the Shri Yantra, then do it by vidhi-vidhan — learn it.
What should a sadhak do with a yantra before avaran pujan?
Among the sadhaks in his own sadhana parivar who take up the fully tantrokta path, the very first thing he has done is abhishek: the vidhi of abhishek — do abhishek, keep doing abhishek. When 108 abhisheks are completed, and along with all the abhisheks the archan too, and when both of these are complete, then slowly he checks how far each has reached and what the position is. Then, of those, he teaches the avaran pujan.
