What is Kara-mala japa, and which finger phalanges are traditionally skipped?
In Kara-mala japa, the 10 Digpalas and 9 Grahas are mapped onto the 16 finger phalanges, with three phalanges — associated with Shani, Nairritya, and Yama — traditionally omitted during japa.
A south-facing house may turn the lamp's mouth outward through these five days; on other days they are placed facing each other, east and west.
If the house is south-facing — that is, as soon as we step out of the house the southern direction falls before us — then, asked whether the lamp's mouth should be turned that way or not, the speaker says do it. In these five days there is no difficulty; it can be turned outward. On the remaining days place them facing each other, which makes them east and west.
What does the text describe of the Himalaya itself?
There is a very detailed description of Himalaya parvat: all its divinity, what pervades where, which cannot be seen directly by an ordinary man; what kinds of divine things are present there; where Indra, Kuber, Yama and Varuna live; at what distances the puris of the ten dikpalas are situated; and on which peak the apsaras dwell. Hearing all this, Bhagavati says that Himalaya parvat will indeed be the right place, and that they should go there.
The stotra-satnam of Batuk Bhairav protects the whole body and makes the ten directions open a protective path.
After that, going forward, the stotra-satnam of Batuk Bhairav ji at the least — so that our body is entirely protected, so that the ten directions open a path for us, a protective path, so that whatever energy comes to us as we advance on the sadhana path performs only our welfare and no harm of any kind is done.
The shodash matrikas, panch lokpal and das dikpal each receive one flower and water three times.
A flower is offered in the name of the shodash matrikas, saying Shodash Matrikabhyo Namah, and water is offered three times. Then in the name of the panch lokpal, saying Panch Lokpalbhyo Namah, a flower is placed and water is offered three times. Then in the name of the das dikpal, saying Das Dikpalbhyo Namah, a flower is offered and then water. In this way, by the brief vidhi, the pujan of all the devatas is done.
Which shaktis should be established in the eight directions at the foundation?
He says that afterwards, with the whole diagram or naksha of the house in hand — these are my corners — eight shaktis should certainly be established in the eight corners, at the neev itself. Whichever knowledgeable person you go to, let them employ for the ashta digbandhan whichever shaktis they use: ashta Bhairav, ashta matrika, digpala-related shaktis, or whichever mantras they have made siddh from their own shraddha.
What beej mantras do the eight digpalas carry?
He says that leaving aside Brahma and Anant, eight digpalas are chiefly present over the whole earth. They too have their beej mantras — Bhagwan Indra's beej mantra is Lam, Agni Devata's is Ram, then Yamraj's is Yam, and Nairritya's is Ksham.
Where else are the digpalas and their weapons worshipped?
He says that just as we worship the vajra of Bhagwan Indra in aavaran pujan and the like, and worship Bhagwan Indra himself, and the gada of Kuber ji is worshipped, and Kuber ji himself is worshipped — in the same way, for whichever astra we are placing in whichever direction, if the beej mantras related to the shakti we are employing and to the digpal of that direction are used as samput, it gives a most intense effect.
How much strength is ascribed to Hanuman ji against a jinn?
Answering Jai Singh ji on jinns, he says that if you trust and rely on your ishta-aradhya, then what cannot happen. He cites a Maharaj ji, now Brahmalin, whose video he says he will put up: the strength of a hundred elephants is in one digpal; the strength of a hundred digpalas is in Bhagwan Indra's Airavat; the strength of a thousand Airavats is in Bhagwan Indra; and the strength of thousands of Indras is in one hair of Bhagwan Hanuman ji.
What full vidhan does apsara sadhana proper require?
Besides this, the speaker says, the upasana of Bhagavan Indra and the upasana of Bhagavati Sachi becomes necessary — not just upasana but their complete sadhana and puja with full vidhi vidhan, digpal pujan, the balidan of the digpals; only after all these things are done does that sadhana come at the end.
Why should Kuber ji not be ignored?
Because he is himself the guardian devata of the north direction, and one among the ten digpalas — this you should remember, he says, so never ignore the pujan of Kuber ji. He points to the pran pratishtha video on the channel in which Kuber ji's consecration is shown; Kuber ji is called the very friend of Shiva ji and is the protector of our wealth. Along with Kuber ji Maharaj, the puja of the thirteen principal yakshas especially takes place.
Which mandalas belong to the kalash sthapana of Navratri?
Kalash sthapan should be done at the right time on the first day, he says — the timings will be discussed separately and written out. The mandalas are those of the nine grahas, of the shodash matrikas, of the sixty-four yoginis, of the five kshetrapals, and of the ten digpals.
What does the episode teach about attaining a high post?
They have heard earlier in the Shiv Mahapuran that one can attain even the post of Brahma, Vishnu or Mahesh. Look again at those not attaining moksha: Brahma is a pad. Even after going to that pad, if you make abhiman, you cannot be saved — whether you are Indra, Varun, Yama, Kuber, one of the ten dikpals, or Brahma himself.
None of the Devas dared go before the enraged Parvati — the very image of wrath, like any mother whose son has died
They thought Parvati was the very image of wrath and none could summon the courage to go before her. Devas, Danavas, Dikpalas, Yakshas, Kinnaras, Munis, Vishnu, Brahma — none, kin or stranger, was able to appear before her blazing, burning form.
Why is a yantra needed at all in Agam-ukta worship?
Because in Agam-ukta seva-puja the entire mandala of the deity is worshipped — all the parikars, all the anga vidyas, all the forms present in that deity's family, from the ten digpalas to the matrika group to the yoginis and Bhairavas. If there is any medium by which each one of them can be satisfied, he says, it is the yantra; no other means, special or ordinary, is so easily obtained.
Why is the worship centred on the bindu of the yantra?
Because the pujan happens in the mool itself, at the bindu in the middle, at the centre. In yantra pujan, he says, at the beginning they expand themselves, spread out, and afterwards gather themselves in. When the visarjan of the pujan happens, all their parikars in the different mandalas — the ten dikpalas with their weapons, whichever shaktis, the chief shaktis of the ten dikpalas, Bhagavati Kadambari and the rest — come and merge back into the mool shakti within the deity at that same mool bindu, whether Bhagavati or Bhagwan Shiva.
The asuras took boons from Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu and Bhagavati, then seized the yajna share
He asks where the asuras and rakshasas got their samarthya: they took boons from Brahma, from Shiva, from Vishnu, from Bhagavati — and then in their raksha samskriti and their own kula did they have anyone else worshipped, or only themselves? He points to the yajna anushthans of the rishis, whose share they began to take themselves, removing the devas and seizing the share of the ten Digpalas.
How is the last avaran of the Durga Saptashati yantra worshipped?
Asked whether in the final avaran of the Shri Durga Saptashati yantra's avaran mandal pujan one does as in the other eight avarans, or only releases rice on the yantra, or both, he says there are two matters. First: if you are performing the pujan of nine avarans, then in the ninth avaran there is the pujan of the ayudhas of the Kshetrapal in the final avaran; and there is the pujan of the ayudhas of the ten Dikpalas.
What is done if one has gone into the tenth avaran?
And if after that you have gone into the tenth avaran, he says, then those shaktis by way of the Aindri shakti — the mahashaktis connected chiefly with the kundalini shakti of the ten Dikpalas — if you are performing their pujan, then for that it stands that the pujan is to be done beside the kalash. But a kalash will not always be installed. So you will do the same thing on the yantra itself with jal and akshat, or whatever else you have used for the rest.
Is there a dosha in doing havan after sunset, and is dikpala bali always required?
Asked whether any dosha arises from doing Havan after sunset, and whether balidan on behalf of the ten dikpalas is compulsory in every havan, the speaker says that the matter of dosha and so on is in the Vedic havan. If you are doing an ordinary tantrokta havan and the like, there is no dosha in it and you may do it. And if you are performing the complete vidhan of havan with Bali on behalf of the ten Digpalas, then it is necessary; if you are doing an ordinary havan, it is not necessary every time.
Must the preliminary pujans be done daily before the Dattatreya pujan?
Asked whether, in the pujan of Bhagavan Dattatreya, the pujan of Gauri Ganesh, the Kalash, the Navagraha, the Kshetrapal and the Digpalas must all be done first each day, the speaker answers yes — do them first.
The ang devatas, the Kshetrapal and the Digpal wait for the visitor too
And they too have this hope, that my son will come today. However many ang devatas there are of that place, the Kshetrapal, the Digpal — even if you only light a lamp there — they remain in the hope that the son will come today. So you should go, he says; this is his own experience. Those who have obtained divya drishti and are in the tantra kshetra will also know all these things particularly, because when they go somewhere, they too have the sensing and the experience of things there.
Is a Kshetrapal or Dikpal bali required on Guru Purnima?
No. There will be no obligation on that day to perform the Kshetrapal bali or the bali of the ten Dikpalas. If you do them it is excellent; if you do not, it is not a difficulty. Do not worry about it — because if the procedure grows too large, people will run from it.
What is the correct procedure for removing the kravyadi amsha?
There is a vidhi for it, the speaker says: how we take out the kravyadi amsha, taking the fire from the agni kona and first placing it in the nairitya kona, and then putting it outside. Then we call the pure fire in the form of Svaha. Then we array Bhagavati Svaha there in the form of a garment: the sarkanda is placed, which is the garment of Ma. If that is not given, it will be said that Devi Svaha has not accepted a garment, that she has not put on a garment. Only after knowing all these subjects — and then how the ahuti is to be given — should you do it.
What is the chief reason Phalgun Purnima night is so potent?
Because on this night, as the speaker has explained in videos already published, what is called the ten doors of the ten digpalas remains open — whether of svarga, of patala, or in the eastern side, north, south and all four corners. The ten digpalas do not stop any shaktis.
