The monkeys put him in front with respect and went to Raghupati, the home of mercy. From afar he saw the two brothers, who give joy to the eyes. Then he saw Rāma, the house of beauty, and stopped still, eyes unblinking, holding back even a blink. Rāma's arms are long, his eyes red like lotus, his body dark, and he frees the fear of those who bow. His shoulders are like a lion's, his chest broad, and the beauty of his face charms a million Kāmas. Tears in his eyes and his body thrilled, Vibhīṣaṇa steadied his mind and spoke softly: 'Lord, I am Rāvaṇa's brother. I was born in a demon family, protector of the gods. My body is dark by nature and loves sin, as the owl loves the dark. Hearing your good fame I have come, you who break the fear of the world. Save me, save me, you who take away pain and give joy to those who take refuge, Raghubīra.'
