भगत भयहारी

Seeing him bow to the ground, the Lord rose at once, very glad. His humble words pleased the Lord, who took him in his long arms to his heart. Seating him beside his younger brother, the Lord who takes away the fear of devotees said: 'Tell me, king of Laṅkā, are you and your family well? Your home is in a bad place. Day and night you live among a crowd of the wicked; how can your dharma last, friend? I know all your ways. You are skilled in right conduct and do not like wrong.' Vibhīṣaṇa answers: 'Better to live in hell, dear friend, than let fate give you the company of the wicked. Now I am well, having seen your feet, Raghurāya, since you showed kindness to me as your servant.' The dohā says that a living being has no welfare, and no rest of mind even in dream, as long as he does not worship Rāma, giving up desire, the home of sorrow. विभीषण को दण्डवत करते देखकर प्रभु तुरन्त बड़े हर्ष से उठे। उनके दीन वचन सुनकर प्रभु का मन प्रसन्न हुआ और उन्होंने अपनी विशाल भुजाओं से उन्हें हृदय से लगा लिया। छोटे भाई समेत उन्हें अपने पास बैठाकर भक्तों का भय हरने वाले प्रभु बोले: लंकेश, परिवार सहित बताओ, कुशल तो है? तुम्हारा निवास बुरी जगह है। रात-दिन दुष्टों की मण्डली में रहते हो, मित्र, तुम्हारा धर्म कैसे निभता है? मैं तुम्हारी सब रीति जानता हूँ; तुम नीति में बहुत निपुण हो और अनीति तुम्हें नहीं भाती। विभीषण ने कहा, तात, नरक में रहना अच्छा है, पर विधाता दुष्ट का संग न दे। हे रघुराय, अब आपके चरण देखकर कुशल हूँ, क्योंकि आपने मुझे अपना जन जानकर दया की। दोहे में कहा है कि जब तक कोई शोक के घर काम को छोड़कर राम को नहीं भजता, तब तक जीव का कल्याण नहीं और स्वप्न में भी मन को विश्राम नहीं।
