Chapter 50·Śiva sees Rāma, and Satī doubts·Verses 1–
Śambhu saw Rāma at that time, and great joy rose in his heart. He filled his eyes with the ocean of beauty, but did not make himself known, as it was the wrong time. Saying 'Victory to you, truth, awareness and bliss, purifier of the world', the destroyer of Kāma went on, with Satī, again and again thrilling with joy at the abode of mercy. Satī saw Śiva's state and a great doubt rose in her heart. Śaṅkara is honoured by all the world, and gods, men and sages bow to him. Yet he bowed to a king's son, called him truth, awareness and the highest home, and was so filled with joy at the sight of him that even now his love cannot be held back. In the dohā, Satī thinks: Brahman is all-pervading, spotless, unborn, without parts, desire or difference, and not even the Vedas know it. Can that become a man by taking a body?

Brahman is all-pervading, spotless, unborn, without parts, without wish and without difference. Not even the Vedas know it. Can that become a man by taking a body?
