राम के बरन दोउ
The two syllables of Rāma's name are sweet and lovely, the two eyes of the letters and the life of the devotee. They are easy to get when remembered, a joy to all, a gain in this world and a way through the next. Telling, hearing and remembering them is very good; they are as dear to Tulasī as Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa. As letters they are different in love, yet as natural friends they are like Brahman and the soul. They are like Nara and Nārāyaṇa, fine brothers, protectors of the world and above all saviours of the devout; ornaments of devotion, the fair wife; clean moon and sun for the good of the world. They are like taste and contentment for the good end, tortoise and Śeṣa that bear the earth; like two lovely bees in the lotus of the devotee's mind, and like tongue to Yaśodā and Hari and Balarāma.
