आकाशवाणी
For ten thousand years they gave up even that, and stood on one foot. Brahmā, Hari and Śiva saw their great austerity and came to Manu many times. They tempted him to ask for a boon in many ways, but the very steady pair could not be moved. Their bodies were bones only, yet they felt no pain in the mind. The Lord, all-knowing, knew them as his own, with no other refuge, the king and queen in austerity. A voice came from the sky, 'Ask, ask for a boon', deep and soaked in the nectar of mercy. The lovely voice, which brings the dead to life, entered their ears and reached the heart, and their bodies were made well and strong, as if they had just come from home. Hearing the voice, sweet as nectar, with the hair on his body standing, Manu bowed in full prostration, and love could not be held in his heart.दस हजार वर्ष उन्होंने उस हवा को भी छोड़ दिया और दोनों एक पैर पर खड़े रहे। ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और शिव ने उनका अपार तप देखा और कई बार मनु के पास आए। उन्होंने तरह-तरह से लोभ दिलाकर वर माँगने को कहा, पर परम धीर वे दोनों उनके चलाने से नहीं चले। उनका शरीर हड्डी भर रह गया, फिर भी मन को थोड़ी भी पीड़ा नहीं थी। सर्वज्ञ प्रभु ने उन तपस्वी राजा-रानी को अपना अनन्य दास जाना। तब आकाश से वाणी हुई, 'वर माँगो, वर माँगो', जो अत्यन्त गम्भीर और कृपा के अमृत से सनी थी। मरे हुए को जिला देने वाली वह सुहावनी वाणी जब कान के छेदों से हृदय में आई, तब उनके शरीर हृष्ट-पुष्ट और सुन्दर हो गए, मानो अभी घर से आए हों। कानों के लिए अमृत जैसे वचन सुनकर मनु का शरीर पुलकित हो गया; उन्होंने दण्डवत किया और हृदय में प्रेम समाता नहीं था।

सर्वज्ञ प्रभु ने उन तपस्वी राजा-रानी को अपना अनन्य दास जाना। तब आकाश से वाणी हुई, 'वर माँगो, वर माँगो', जो अत्यन्त गम्भीर और कृपा के अमृत से सनी थी।
The all-knowing Lord knew them as his own servants, with no other refuge, the king and queen at their austerity. A voice came from the sky, 'Ask, ask for a boon', deep and soaked in the nectar of mercy.

४4मृतक जिआवनि गिरा सुहाई। श्रबन रंध्र होइ उर जब आई ॥हृष्टपुष्ट तन भए सुहाए। मानहुँ अबहिं भवन ते आए ॥
