Rāma honors the Niṣāda and sends him off, and he goes with a heavy heart. Kols, Kirātas, Bhils and forest dwellers are turned back and return, saluting again and again. The Lord, Sītā and Lakṣmaṇa sit in the shade of a banyan and grieve for their dear ones. Rāma tells Sītā and his brother of Bharata's love, nature and fine speech, describing with his own mouth, overcome with love, Bharata's love and trust in word, mind and deed. At that time the birds, deer, fish and every creature moving and unmoving at Citrakūṭa are dull. The gods, seeing Raghubar's state, rain flowers and tell him how it stands in each of their homes. The Lord accepts their bow and gives them trust, and they go gladly, no longer much afraid. Rāma with his brother and Sītā shines in the leaf hut, as if devotion, knowledge and dispassion were shining in a body.
