Chapter 39·The Battle of Viṣṇu and Dadhīci·Verses 1–55
अथैकोनचत्वारिंशोऽध्यायः
Viṣṇu, in the guise of a brāhmaṇa, comes to Dadhīci seeking his aid against Kṣuva, but Dadhīci recognizes him and, unafraid, refuses to bow to a mere king's champion. When Viṣṇu's discus and every weapon prove powerless against him, and even Viṣṇu's Universal Form fails to awe him, Dadhīci — unconquered by Viṣṇu and all the gods — curses the gods and Viṣṇu himself, then relents and shows grace to the humbled Kṣuva, giving rise to the holy site of Sthāneśvara.श्रीविष्णु और देवताओंसे अपराजित दधीचिद्वारा देवताओंको शाप देना तथा राजा क्षुवपर अनुग्रह करना

For the sake of Kṣuva's welfare, the Lord, who loves his devotees, took on the form of a brāhmaṇa and went to Dadhīci's hermitage.

There, even in the king's presence, that terrible discus was, by the power of that brāhmaṇa's own lord, blunted against him.
