रावण का क्रोध
Rāvaṇa rushes in great anger and the monkeys go to meet him with shouts, hurling trees, rocks and mountains all at once. The mountains strike his thunderbolt body and shatter into pieces. He does not move but stays in his chariot, mad with battle and very angry. He seizes the monkey warriors this way and that and begins to crush them, and the bears and monkeys flee crying to Aṅgada and Hanumān for help, and to Raghubīra for rescue, saying the wretch eats like Death. Seeing him, all the monkeys run, and he fits arrows to his ten bows and looses a mass of them that fly like serpents. They fill the earth and sky and the monkeys cannot tell where to run; a great uproar rises and the distressed host cries to Raghubīra, the sea of mercy and friend of the afflicted. Seeing his own host in distress, Lakṣmaṇa tied his quiver, took his bow, bowed at Rāma's feet and went out in anger.रावण बहुत क्रुद्ध होकर दौड़ा और वानर हूह करते हुए सामने चले; उन्होंने हाथों में पेड़, पत्थर और पर्वत लेकर एक ही बार में उस पर फेंके। पर्वत उसके वज्र जैसे शरीर पर लगकर तुरंत खंड-खंड हो गए। वह रथ पर अडिग रहा और युद्ध के मद में बहुत क्रुद्ध था। वह इधर-उधर झपटकर वानर योद्धाओं को डाँटकर कुचलने लगा, तो भालू-वानर भागे और अंगद और हनुमान से रक्षा की पुकार करने लगे, और रघुवीर से कि यह दुष्ट काल की तरह खा रहा है। उसे देखकर सब वानर भाग गए, और उसने दसों धनुषों पर बाण चढ़ा लिए। उसने धनुष खींचकर बाणों का समूह छोड़ा, जो साँपों की तरह उड़कर लगते थे। धरती और आकाश बाणों से भर गए और वानर भागकर कहाँ जाएँ यह न जान सके; बड़ा कोलाहल मच गया, व्याकुल वानर-भालू दल आतुर होकर रघुवीर को, जो करुणा के सागर और दीन के बंधु हैं, पुकारने लगा। अपनी सेना को व्याकुल देखकर लक्ष्मण ने कमर में तरकश कसा, हाथ में धनुष लिया और राम के चरणों में सिर नवाकर क्रोध से चले।

Rāvaṇa rushed on in great anger; the monkeys went to meet him with shouts. Taking trees, rocks and mountains in their hands, they threw them all at him at once.

बड़े क्रोध से वह इधर-उधर झपटकर वानर योद्धाओं को डाँटता और कुचलने लगा। तरह-तरह के भालू-वानर भागे, पुकारते हुए, 'अंगद, बचाओ! हनुमान, बचाओ!
In great fury he darted this way and that, threatening the monkey warriors and beginning to crush them. The bears and monkeys of many kinds fled, crying, 'Save us, Aṅgada! Save us, Hanumān!

४4पाहि पाहि रघुबीर गोसाई। यह खल खाइ काल की नाई ॥तेहि देखे कपि सकल पराने। दसहुँ चाप सायक संधाने ॥

रघुवीर प्रभु, बचाओ! यह दुष्ट काल की तरह हमें खा रहा है।' उसे देखकर सब वानर भाग गए, और उसने दसों धनुषों पर बाण चढ़ाए।
Save us, Lord Raghubīra! This wretch eats us like Death.' Seeing him, all the monkeys fled, and he fitted arrows to his ten bows.

धनुष खींचकर उसने बाणों का समूह छोड़ा, जो साँपों की तरह उड़कर लगते थे। धरती, आकाश और सब दिशाएँ बाणों से भर गईं; वानर भागकर कहाँ जाएँ? बड़ा कोलाहल मचा, और व्याकुल भालू-वानर दल आतुर होकर पुकारने लगा: 'रघुवीर, करुणा के सागर, दीन के बंधु, रक्षक, हरि!'
Drawing his bows, he loosed a mass of arrows that flew and struck like serpents. The earth was filled with arrows, and the sky and every direction; where could the monkeys run? A great uproar rose, and the distressed host of bears and monkeys called in anguish: 'Raghubīra, sea of mercy, friend of the afflicted, protector, Hari!'

दोहा ८२दोहा 82निज दल बिकल देखि कटि कसि निषंग धनु हाथ।लछिमन चले क्रुद्ध होइ नाइ राम पद माथ ॥ ८२ ॥

अपने दल को व्याकुल देखकर लक्ष्मण ने कमर में तरकश कसा, हाथ में धनुष लिया और राम के चरणों में सिर नवाकर क्रोध से चले।
Seeing his own host in distress, Lakṣmaṇa tied on his quiver, took his bow in hand, and bowed at Rāma's feet; then he set out in anger.
