लछिमन को सक्ति
Lakṣmaṇa calls out to Rāvaṇa to stop killing monkeys and bears and look at him; he is Rāvaṇa's Death, and he has been looking for him. Rāvaṇa's weapons are cut down, and Lakṣmaṇa breaks his chariot and kills his charioteer, and shoots a hundred arrows into the ten foreheads. A hundred more strike his chest and he falls, senseless, but rises and hurls the spear that Brahmā gave him. It strikes Lakṣmaṇa, who falls helpless; Rāvaṇa, of matchless strength, tries to lift him, but cannot, for in Lakṣmaṇa dwells the universe, as the whole world rests on Śeṣa's one head like a grain of dust. Seeing this, Hanumān runs up shouting harsh words, and Rāvaṇa strikes him with a terrible blow of the fist.लक्ष्मण रावण को ललकारते हैं: दुष्ट, वानर-भालुओं को क्या मारता है, मुझे देख, मैं तेरा काल हूँ; पुत्र के घातक, मैं तुझे ही खोज रहा था, आज तुझे गिराकर अपनी छाती ठंडी करूँगा। यह कहकर वे प्रचंड बाण छोड़ते हैं और रावण के चलाए करोड़ों शस्त्र तिल बराबर काटकर रोक देते हैं। फिर वे उसके रथ को तोड़ सारथी को मार देते हैं और उसके दसों मस्तकों में सौ-सौ बाण मारते हैं। फिर छाती में सौ बाण लगने पर वह गिर पड़ता है, पर फिर उठता है और ब्रह्मा की दी हुई शक्ति छोड़ता है। वह प्रचंड शक्ति लक्ष्मण के हृदय में लगती है और वे व्याकुल होकर गिर पड़ते हैं। अतुल बल वाला रावण उन्हें उठाना चाहता है, पर नहीं उठा सकता, क्योंकि जिनके एक सिर पर ब्रह्मांड धूल के कण की तरह टिका है उन्हें वह मूर्ख उठाना चाहता है; तीनों भुवनों के स्वामी को वह नहीं जानता। यह देख हनुमान कठोर वचन कहते दौड़े, और आते हुए हनुमान पर रावण ने बड़े भयंकर घूँसे से प्रहार किया।

'अरे दुष्ट, वानर-भालुओं को क्यों मारता है? मुझे देख, मैं तेरा काल हूँ। पुत्र के घातक, मैं तुझे ही खोज रहा था। आज तुझे गिराकर अपनी छाती ठंडी करूँगा।'

यह कहकर उन्होंने प्रचंड बाण छोड़े और रावण को सौ टुकड़ों में काट दिया। रावण ने करोड़ों शस्त्र फेंके, और लक्ष्मण ने उन्हें तिल के बराबर काटकर हटा दिया।
So saying, he loosed fierce arrows and cut Rāvaṇa down in a hundred pieces. Rāvaṇa hurled crores of weapons, and Lakṣmaṇa cut them to the size of sesame seeds and turned them aside.

Then he struck with his own arrows, broke the chariot and killed the charioteer. He shot a hundred arrows into each of the ten foreheads, like snakes entering mountain peaks.

Then he shot a hundred arrows into the chest, and Rāvaṇa fell to the ground, quite senseless. The mighty one rose again, his faint passed, and he hurled the spear that Brahmā had given him.

ब्रह्मा की दी हुई वह प्रचंड शक्ति ठीक लक्ष्मण की छाती में लगी; वीर व्याकुल होकर गिर पड़े। अतुल बल वाला दशमुख रावण उन्हें उठाने लगा, पर उठा न सका। जिनके एक सिर पर ब्रह्मांड धूल के कण की तरह टिका है, उन्हें यह मूर्ख उठाना चाहता है; वह तीनों भुवनों के स्वामी को नहीं जानता।
That fierce spear, given by Brahmā, struck Lakṣmaṇa full in the chest; the hero fell, helpless. Ten-headed Rāvaṇa, matchless in strength, tried to lift him, and failed. The universe dwells in him, as a grain of dust sits on one head of Śeṣa; this fool wanted to lift him, not knowing him as lord of the three worlds.

'एक सिर' से शेष का सिर समझिए, जिनके अवतार लक्ष्मण हैं।
The 'one head' is that of Śeṣa, whom Lakṣmaṇa incarnates.

यह देखकर हनुमान कठोर वचन बोलते हुए दौड़े। आते हुए हनुमान पर रावण ने बड़े भयंकर घूँसे से प्रहार किया।
Seeing this, Hanumān ran at him, speaking harsh words. As he came, Rāvaṇa struck him with a terrible blow of his fist.
