Chapter 32·Aṅgada strikes the ground·Verses 1–
When Rāvaṇa insults Rāma, Aṅgada is furious: one who hears Hari or Hara abused with his own ears incurs a sin equal to killing a cow. He gnashes his teeth and strikes the ground with both arms. The earth shakes, the courtiers fall, and others flee as if swept by the wind. Rāvaṇa rises, steadying himself, but his lovely crowns have fallen. He puts some back on his heads, and Aṅgada throws some toward the Lord. The monkeys flee at the sight of the crowns flying, taking them for meteors in daylight or four thunderbolts hurled in anger. Rāma, smiling, tells them not to fear: these are no meteors, thunderbolts, comets or Rāhu, but Rāvaṇa's crowns, sent by Aṅgada. Hanumān leaps and catches them, and puts them before the Lord, and the bears and monkeys watch, shining like the sun. In Laṅkā, Rāvaṇa angrily orders his men to seize the monkey, and Aṅgada smiles.

The great monkey-elephant gnashed his teeth and struck the ground with both his arms. The earth shook and the courtiers fell down. Others ran, seized by fear like leaves in the wind.

The ten-necked one steadied himself as he fell and rose. His lovely crowns lay on the ground. Some he took and put back on his heads, and some Aṅgada threw toward the Lord.

Seeing the crowns coming, the monkeys ran. They thought that stars were falling in daytime, or that Rāvaṇa in anger had sent four thunderbolts rushing at them.

The Lord laughed and said, 'Do not be afraid in your hearts. These are not meteors, nor thunderbolts, nor a comet, nor Rāhu. These are Rāvaṇa's crowns, coming sent by Vālī's son.'

There, Daśānana, burning with anger, told them all, 'Seize the monkey, catch him and kill him.' Hearing this, Aṅgada smiled.
