Brahmā praises Rāma as the ever-joyful, the holder of bow and arrows, the lion that tears the elephant of rebirth, the sea of virtues, whose boundless beauty is sung by siddhas, sages and poets. His fame took hold of the great serpent Rāvaṇa as Garuḍa seizes one in anger. He is the delight of his servants and destroyer of grief and fear, free of anger and full of knowledge; his noble incarnations, with boundless qualities, take the earth's burden away. Unborn, all-pervading, one, without beginning, Rāma, home of mercy: he made Vibhīṣaṇa a king, though he was poor. He is the store of qualities and knowledge, without pride, unborn, lord, free of dust; his arms are strong and glorious, he is clever in destroying crowds of evil ones. He is a friend to the humble without cause, home of beauty, together with Ramā. He ferries beings across the world, and takes away the terrible faults born of the mind. His bow and quiver are lovely, his eyes red like lotus, he is the best of kings, house of joy, lord of Śrī, who calms the pride, desire and false attachment. He is without fault, unbroken, beyond the senses, taking all forms yet never becoming them, as the sun and its heat are different and not different. All these monkeys have done their work, Lord, and now look on your face with reverence. Shame on the life and body of the gods, Hari, that without devotion to you they stray in the world. Now, merciful to the humble, show kindness and take away my mind that makes distinctions, by which I act contrary and take sorrow for joy. Slayer of the wicked, adornment of forgiveness, whose lotus feet Śambhu and Umā serve: lord of kings, give this boon, love for your lotus feet, which always brings good.
