सीता का आना
Sītā says: do now what lets me see my dark, gentle Lord with my eyes. Hanumān goes to Rāma and tells of Jānakī's welfare. Hearing the message, the jewel of the Sun's line calls the prince Vibhīṣaṇa and tells him to go with Hanumān and bring Janaka's daughter with honour. At once all go to where Sītā is, humbly served by the night-ranger women. Vibhīṣaṇa quickly instructs them and they bathe her in many ways, dress her in many ornaments, and bring a lovely palanquin. Vaidehī gladly climbs into it, remembering Rāma, the home of joy and her beloved. Guards with canes on every side, all go in great delight. The bears and monkeys all come to see her and the guards run in anger to stop them. Raghubīra says, 'Listen to me, friend: bring Sītā on foot; let the monkeys see her as a mother.' Lord Raghunātha said it laughing. Hearing the Lord, the bears and monkeys rejoice and the gods rain many flowers from the sky. Sītā had first been placed in fire, and he wished to bring her inner witness into the open. For that reason the merciful Lord spoke some harsh words, and hearing them, the night-ranger women began to grieve.सीता कहती हैं, 'अब तुम वही उपाय करो जिससे मैं श्याम, मृदु शरीर वाले प्रभु को अपनी आँखों से देख सकूँ।' हनुमान राम के पास जाकर जनकसुता की कुशल सुनाते हैं। संदेश सुनकर भानुकुल के भूषण राम विभीषण और युवराज अंगद को बुलाकर कहते हैं कि पवनपुत्र के साथ जाओ और आदर से जनकसुता को ले आओ। वे तुरंत वहाँ गए जहाँ सीता थीं और जहाँ सब राक्षसियाँ विनम्र होकर उनकी सेवा करती थीं। विभीषण ने उन्हें शीघ्र सिखाया और उन्होंने बहुत प्रकार से उन्हें स्नान कराया, अनेक भूषण पहनाए और सुंदर पालकी सजाकर ले आईं। उस पर सुखधाम और स्नेही राम का स्मरण करके वैदेही हर्ष से चढ़ीं। चारों ओर बेंत हाथ में लिए रक्षक थे और सब मन में परम उल्लास से चले। भालू-वानर सब देखने आए तो रक्षक क्रोध करके रोकने दौड़े। रघुवीर ने कहा, 'मेरी बात मानो, मित्र, सीता को पैदल लाओ; वानर उन्हें माता की तरह देखें,' रघुनाथ ने हँसकर कहा। प्रभु के वचन सुनकर भालू-वानर हर्षित हुए और आकाश से देवताओं ने बहुत फूल बरसाए। सीता को पहले अग्नि में रखा गया था, और अब प्रभु उनके अंतःकरण के साक्षी को प्रकट करना चाहते थे। इसी कारण करुणानिधि ने कुछ कठोर वचन कहे, जिन्हें सुनकर सब राक्षसियाँ विषाद करने लगीं।

'अब, बेटा, तुम वही उपाय करो जिससे मैं श्याम, कोमल शरीर वाले प्रभु को अपनी आँखों से देख सकूँ।' तब हनुमान राम के पास जाकर जनकसुता की कुशल सुनाने लगे।
'Now, dear one, do that by which I may see with my eyes the dark, tender-bodied Lord.' Then Hanumān went to Rāma and told him of Janaka's daughter's welfare.

At once all went to where Sītā was, and the night-ranger women served her humbly. Vibhīṣaṇa quickly instructed them, and they bathed her in many ways.

They dressed her in many ornaments and brought a lovely palanquin, well fitted. Vaidehī gladly climbed into it, remembering Rāma, the home of joy and her beloved.

Guards with canes in their hands stood on all sides, and all went with great delight in their hearts. The bears and monkeys all came to see her, and the guards ran in anger to hold them back.
