सुग्रीव बिसारा

Hanumān sees that Sugrīva has forgotten Rāma's work. He goes to him and, by all four means a king uses, makes him understand. Sugrīva is struck with fear and admits that pleasure has taken his sense away. He orders Hanumān to send messengers to every side, with the warning that anyone not back within a fortnight will die by his hand. Hanumān calls the messengers and sends them out. At that moment Lakṣmaṇa comes to the city. The monkeys run in fear, and Aṅgada comes out to meet him. हनुमान ने सोचा कि सुग्रीव राम का काम भूल गया है। वे उसके पास जाकर राजा के चारों उपायों से उसे समझाते हैं। सुग्रीव बहुत डर जाता है और मानता है कि विषय-सुख ने उसका ज्ञान हर लिया। वह हनुमान से कहता है कि चारों ओर दूत भेजो, और जो पन्द्रह दिन में न लौटे उसे मैं अपने हाथ से मारूँगा। हनुमान दूतों को बुलाकर भेजते हैं। इसी समय लक्ष्मण नगर में आते हैं; उनका क्रोध देखकर वानर जहाँ-तहाँ भागते हैं और अंगद उनके पास आता है।

१1 इहाँ पवनसुत हृदयँ बिचारा। राम काजु सुग्रीवँ बिसारा ॥ निकट जाइ चरनन्हि सिरु नावा। चारिहु बिधि तेहि कहि समुझावा ॥

यह सुनकर सुग्रीव बहुत डर गया। 'विषय-सुख ने मेरा ज्ञान हर लिया। हनुमान, अब दूतों के दल, वानरों की टोलियाँ, जहाँ-तहाँ भेजो।

Hearing this, Sugrīva was greatly afraid. 'Pleasure has taken away my sense. Hanumān, now send out groups of messengers, bands of monkeys, in every direction.

३3 कहहु पाख महुँ आव न जोई। मोरें कर ता कर बध होई ॥ तब हनुमंत बोलाए दूता। सब कर करि सनमान बहूता ॥
