Aṅgada bows to Lakṣmaṇa and pleads, and Lakṣmaṇa offers him safety. Sugrīva, hearing that Lakṣmaṇa is angry, is afraid and sends Hanumān and Tārā to calm the prince. They bring Lakṣmaṇa into the palace, wash his feet and seat him. Sugrīva bows to him, and Lakṣmaṇa embraces him. Sugrīva says nothing is as intoxicating as pleasure, and Lakṣmaṇa, pleased with his humble words, reassures him. Hanumān tells how the messengers were sent out, and they all set out to Rāma.अंगद लक्ष्मण को प्रणाम कर विनती करता है, और लक्ष्मण उसे अभय देते हैं। लक्ष्मण के क्रोध की बात सुनकर सुग्रीव डर जाता है और हनुमान तथा तारा को कुमार को समझाने भेजता है। वे लक्ष्मण को विनती करके महल में ले आते हैं, चरण धोकर पलंग पर बैठाते हैं। सुग्रीव उनके चरणों में सिर नवाता है और लक्ष्मण उसे गले लगा लेते हैं। सुग्रीव कहता है कि विषय के समान कोई नशा नहीं, और उसकी विनम्र बातें सुनकर प्रसन्न लक्ष्मण उसे समझाते हैं। हनुमान बताते हैं कि दूत कैसे भेजे गए, और सब राम के पास चलते हैं।

सुग्रीव ने कहा, 'नाथ, विषय के समान कोई मद नहीं; यह क्षण भर में मुनियों के मन को भी मोह लेता है।' ये विनम्र वचन सुनकर लक्ष्मण प्रसन्न हुए और उसे बहुत प्रकार से समझाया।
Sugrīva said, 'Lord, no intoxication is like that of pleasure; it clouds the mind of even a sage in a moment.' Hearing these humble words, Lakṣmaṇa was pleased and calmed him in many ways.

तब सुग्रीव अंगद आदि वानरों के साथ प्रसन्न होकर चला और रामजी के छोटे भाई को आगे करके वहाँ आया जहाँ रघुनाथ थे।
