Having arranged everything, Janaka sends it to Avadh. When the queens hear the procession will go, they are troubled, like fish in shallow water. Again and again they take Sītā on their laps, bless her and teach her: 'Always be dear to your husband, and may your marriage last long. Serve your mother-in-law, father-in-law and guru, watch your husband's face and follow his wish.' Out of great love her clever friends gently teach her a wife's duty. All the princesses are respectfully taught and the queens clasp them to their hearts again and again. The mothers embrace them over and over and say, 'Why did the Creator make women?' At that time Rāma, flag of the sun's line, goes with his brothers to Janaka's palace, glad, to take leave.जनक ने इस तरह सब सामान तैयार कराकर अवधपुर भेज दिया। बारात का चलना सुनकर सब रानियाँ व्याकुल हो गईं, मानो थोड़े पानी में मछलियाँ तड़प रही हों। वे बार-बार सीता को गोद में लेती हैं और आशीर्वाद के साथ सीख देती हैं — सदा अपने पति की प्यारी बनी रहना, हमारा आशीर्वाद है कि सुहाग चिरकाल तक रहे। सास, ससुर और गुरु की सेवा करना; पति का रुख देखकर उनकी आज्ञा का पालन करना। अत्यन्त स्नेह के वश चतुर सखियाँ कोमल वाणी में स्त्रीधर्म सिखाती हैं। आदर से सब कुमारियों को समझाकर रानियों ने उन्हें बार-बार हृदय से लगाया। माताएँ बार-बार भेंटती हैं और कहती हैं कि ब्रह्मा ने स्त्रियाँ क्यों रचीं? उसी समय सूर्यकुल के केतु राम भाइयों सहित प्रसन्न होकर विदा कराने जनक के महल चले।
