Chapter 335·The brothers come to take leave·Verses 1–
The four brothers, lovely by nature, are seen by the men and women of the city, who run to look. One says that Videha has made ready to give them leave today. 'Fill your eyes with their beauty; the four princes are dear guests. Who knows by what good deeds the Creator made them guests of our eyes? As a man doomed to die finds nectar, as a hungry man of many births gets the wishing tree, as a man of hell gets the feet of Hari, so is the sight of these four to us. Look at Rāma's beauty and keep it in your heart; make your mind a snake and his form its jewel.' Giving all the fruit of sight in this way, the princes reach the king's house. Seeing the brothers, an ocean of beauty, the women's quarters leap up in joy, and the mothers-in-law, very glad, wave lamps and gifts over them.

'Fill your eyes with the sight of them: the four princes are dear guests. Who knows, clever one, by what good deeds the Creator brought them and made them guests of our eyes?'

As one doomed to die finds nectar, as a man hungry from birth gets the wishing tree, as a man of hell gets the feet of Hari — so is the sight of them to us.
