Rāma's dark body has the gleam of a peacock's throat, and his bright clothes put lightning to shame. He wears many wedding ornaments, all lucky and lovely. His face is a spotless autumn moon, his eyes shame new lotuses, and his beauty is beyond this world. His lovely brothers ride along making their quick horses dance, and princes show off their riding while family bards sing praises. The horse Rāma rides is so graceful that Garuḍa would be shamed by its gait, as if Kāma himself had taken the form of a horse for Rāma. The Lord's mind is lost in himself as the horse prances, and its beauty is like stars and lightning dancing a cloud.राम का साँवला शरीर मोर के कंठ की चमक-सा है, उनके सुरंग वस्त्र बिजली को भी लजाते हैं। विवाह के अनेक आभूषण पहने हैं, जो सब भाँति मंगलमय और सुहावने हैं। शरद के निर्मल चन्द्रमा जैसा सुहावना मुख है और नए कमल को लजाने वाले नयन हैं; सारी सुन्दरता अलौकिक है, कही नहीं जाती, मन ही मन भाती है। साथ में मनोहर भाई शोभित हैं, जो चंचल घोड़ों को नचाते चलते हैं। राजकुमार घोड़ों की चाल दिखाते हैं और वंश के प्रशंसक विरुदावली सुनाते हैं। जिस घोड़े पर राम बैठे हैं, उसकी चाल देखकर गरुड़ भी लजा जाता है। वह सब भाँति सुहावना है, मानो कामदेव ने ही घोड़े का रूप बनाया हो। प्रभु का मन अपने में लीन है और चलता घोड़ा तारों से सजे बादल और बिजली के नाचने-सी छवि पाता है।

His lovely brothers rode beside him, making their restless horses dance as they went. The princes showed the fine paces of their horses, and the family's praise-singers recited its glories.

जिस घोड़े पर राम बैठे थे, उसकी चाल देखकर पक्षीराज गरुड़ भी लजा गए। उसकी सब भाँति सुहावनी छवि कही नहीं जाती, मानो कामदेव ने ही घोड़े का रूप बनाया हो।
The horse Rāma rode was so graceful that the king of birds felt shamed to see its gait. It cannot be told how lovely it was in every way, as if Kāma himself had made the form of a horse.

मानो कामदेव ने राम के लिए घोड़े का रूप बनाया था और वह बहुत शोभित था। अपनी आयु, बल, रूप, गुण और चाल से वह सब लोकों को मोहित करता था। उसकी जीन जड़ाऊ मोती-मणि-माणिक की ज्योति से जगमगाती थी; घुँघरू और सुन्दर लगाम देखकर देवता, मनुष्य और मुनि ठगे-से रह गए।
It seemed that Kāma had taken the form of a horse for Rāma's sake, and it shone beyond measure. In its age, strength, form, virtue and gait it charmed all the worlds. Its saddle gleamed with set jewels, pearls and rubies, and seeing its bells and bridle, gods, men and sages were beguiled.
