कलिकाल नाम

In all four ages, three times and three worlds, beings have become free of grief by repeating the name; the Vedas, Purāṇas and the saints agree that the fruit of all good deeds is love of Rāma. In the first age the way was meditation, in the second the fire rite, in the third pleasing the Lord by worship. In this age there is only dirt, the root of sin; and people are fish in the sea of sin. Then the name is the wish-tree in the terrible age and, once remembered, ends all the world's snares. Rāma's name gives the dark age whatever it wants and is father and mother for good in this world and the next. In this age there is no work, no devotion, no judgement; the name of Rāma is the one support. Kalinemi is the home of deceit in this age, but the name is the wise, powerful Hanumān. In the dohā: Rāma's name is a lion to Hiraṇyakaśipu who is this dark age; the person who repeats it, like Prahlāda, will be protected and the enemies of the gods torn apart. चारों युगों, तीनों कालों और तीनों लोकों में जीव नाम जपकर शोकरहित हुए; वेद, पुराण और संतों का यही मत है कि सब पुण्यों का फल राम का स्नेह है। पहले युग में ध्यान, दूसरे में यज्ञ-विधि, और द्वापर में पूजन से प्रभु प्रसन्न होते थे। कलियुग तो केवल मल की जड़ और मलिन है, जहाँ लोग पाप के समुद्र की मछलियाँ हैं। ऐसे में नाम कराल काल का कल्पवृक्ष है, जिसके स्मरण से जगत् के सब जंजाल मिट जाते हैं। राम का नाम कलियुग में मनचाहा देने वाला है और इस लोक तथा परलोक में हित करने वाला माता-पिता है। कलियुग में न कर्म है, न भक्ति, न विवेक; राम नाम ही एकमात्र सहारा है। कलियुग कपट का निधान कालनेमि है, और नाम समर्थ बुद्धिमान हनुमान। दोहे में है कि राम का नाम नरसिंह है और कलियुग हिरण्यकशिपु; जप करने वाला प्रह्लाद की तरह है, जिसकी रक्षा होगी और देवताओं के शत्रु नष्ट होंगे।
