By the grace of the name the undying Śiva has an array of ill-omened things that are full of good, and Śuka, Sanaka and the other sages, the perfected and the yogis taste the joy of Brahman. Nārada knew the power of the name: dear to Hari in the world, and Hari dear to him, he is also dear to Hara. At the repeating of the name the Lord was pleased, and Prahlāda became the crown of devotees. Dhruva, hurt in heart, repeated Hari's name and found a fixed and matchless place. Remembering the clean name, Hanumān, son of the wind, kept Rāma in his power. The fallen Ajāmila, the elephant and the courtesan were freed by the power of Hari's name. The poet asks how far he can go in praising the name, for even Rāma cannot sing its virtues.
