Chapter 239·The call to the bow hall·Verses 1–
Lakṣmaṇa goes on: the kings are the stars giving light, but cannot remove the great darkness of the bow, while the lotuses, chakravākas, bees and birds are glad at night's end. In the same way, Lord, all your devotees will be happy when the bow breaks. The sun has risen and darkness is gone without effort; the stars have hidden. Under pretext of his rising the sun has shown all kings your power and revealed the greatness of your arm's strength, so the custom of breaking the bow will come to light. Hearing his brother, the Lord smiles. Pure and holy by nature, he bathes, does his daily rites, and bows at the guru's feet. Janaka sends Śatānanda to the sage with his humble request, and the sage calls the two brothers and sets out.
