The gates are lovely, with doors as hard as diamond, and crowds of kings, actors, bards and minstrels gather there. Great stables for horses and elephants are always crowded. There are many heroes, ministers and generals, and their houses are like the king's palace. Outside the city, near lakes and rivers, many kings have camped. The brothers and the sage find a peerless mango grove, comfortable in every way, and Viśvāmitra says his mind likes it. The Lord agrees and they camp there with the sages. The king of Mithilā hears that the great sage has come, and sets out gladly to meet him with ministers, warriors, brahmins, his guru and kinsmen.
