Chapter Two·The assembly of saints is Prayāga·Verses 1–
The poet says that the soft dust of the Guru's feet is a lovely salve for the eyes. With his eyes made clear, he will tell Rāma's story, which frees from worldly life. He first bows to the brahmins, who remove doubts born of delusion, and then to the company of good people. He praises the saint as cotton, which suffers for others and covers their faults. The gathering of saints is a moving place of pilgrimage. In it the love of Rāma is the Gaṅgā, the thought of Brahman is the Sarasvatī, the teaching of what to do and avoid is the Yamunā, and the stories of Hari and Hara join them. Faith is the undying banyan tree. Whoever bathes there gets fruit at once, in this very life.

The soft, lovely dust of the Guru's feet is an ointment for the eyes. It takes away the faults of the eyes, like nectar. With that I clear the eye of my judgement, and I tell the story of Rāma that frees from worldly life.
Verse 2

First I bow to the feet of the brahmins, who take away every doubt born of delusion. Then to the company of good people, a mine of all virtues. I salute them with love, in good words.

The life of a saint is good like cotton. Its fruit is dry but clean and full of virtue. He bears pain himself and covers the faults of others, and so he is honoured in the world and wins fame.
Explanation
Cotton has a dry seed inside, but it is spun into cloth that covers the body. The word for a hole or fault and the word for a gap in a cloth are the same.
Verse 4

The company of saints is full of joy and good. It is a moving place of pilgrimage in the world. There, the love of Rāma is the stream of the Gaṅgā, and the spreading of thought about Brahman is the Sarasvatī.
Verse 5

The teaching of what to do and what to avoid, which takes away the dirt of this dark age, is the Yamunā, the daughter of the Sun, and it speaks of works. The stories of Hari and Hara shine as the joining of the streams, and hearing them brings joy and good.
Explanation
The poet is describing the three rivers that meet at Prayāga: Gaṅgā, Yamunā and the hidden Sarasvatī.
Verse 6
