The king had a wise, well-wishing minister named Dharmaruci, who was like Śukra, the teacher of the demons. With a wise minister and a brave brother, the king himself was a mass of splendour and steady in battle. His army had four parts beyond measure, with countless warriors who fought in battle. Seeing the army, the king was glad, and trumpets sounded loudly. He gathered his forces to win victories and set out on an auspicious day, sounding the drums. Here and there many battles took place, and he won over all the kings by force. By his arm's strength he brought the seven continents under him, took tribute and let the kings go. At that time Pratāpabhānu was the only lord of the whole round earth. Having brought the world under his own will, he entered his own city, and at the proper times he enjoyed the pleasures of wealth, dharma and desire.
