Chapter 103·Kailāsa, and Kārttikeya's birth·Verses 1–
Himālaya soon came home, called the mountains and lakes, and sent them all away with honour, gifts and respect. When Śambhu came to Kailāsa the gods went to their own worlds. Śambhu and Bhavānī, the mother and father of the world, whose adornment I do not tell: they enjoyed many pleasures and lived on Kailāsa with their attendants. Hara and Girijā's play was new every day, and so a long time passed. Then Ṣaṭ-vadana, the six-faced boy, was born, who killed the demon Tāraka in battle; the Āgamas, Nigamas and Purāṇas know it, and the whole world knows the birth of Ṣaṇmukha. The poet says: for that reason I have told the story of Śiva's son briefly. Men and women who tell and sing this tale of Umā and Śiva's wedding will always find joy in marriage and good fortune. Girijā's husband is an ocean of stories; even the Vedas cannot find its far shore, so how can Tulasīdāsa, so dull-minded, describe it?

When Śambhu reached Kailāsa, the gods all went to their own worlds. Śambhu and Bhavānī are the mother and father of the world; I do not describe their adornment.
Verse 3

Then Ṣaṭ-vadana, the six-faced boy, was born, who killed the demon Tāraka in battle. The Āgamas, Nigamas and Purāṇas make it famous, and all the world knows the birth of Ṣaṇmukha.

The world knows the birth, the deeds, the glory and the great valour of Ṣaṇmukha; for that reason I have briefly told the story of the Bull-bannered Lord's son. Whatever men and women tell or sing of Umā's marriage with Śiva will always find joy in weddings and in everything good.

The story of Girijā's husband is an ocean; even the Vedas cannot find its far shore. How, then, could Tulasīdāsa, so dull-minded and rustic, describe it?
