बहुरि बच्छ कहि

Sītā is overcome and cannot bear the thought of parting. Seeing her state, Rāma understands that if he forces her to stay she will not keep her life. He tells her to put away her worry and come with him, and to get ready quickly. Then he comforts her and goes to his mother for her blessing. Kausalyā, in her grief, pictures a day when she might see her son again and call him to her heart. सीता बहुत व्याकुल हो गईं और बिछोह की बात सह न सकीं। उनकी दशा देखकर राम ने जान लिया कि हठ से रोकने पर वे प्राण नहीं रखेंगी। उन्होंने कहा कि चिंता छोड़कर साथ चलो और शीघ्र वन जाने की तैयारी करो। फिर प्रिया को समझाकर वे माता के चरणों में आशीर्वाद लेने गए। माता कौसल्या दुख में सोचती हैं कि फिर कब बेटे को पास बुलाकर हृदय से लगाऊँगी।
