सेवा करिहौं

Sītā says that on the road she will lose no strength, since she will gaze at his feet at every step. She will serve him in every way and take away the weariness of the journey: wash his feet under a tree, fan him, and watch over him at night. She asks who there would be to look after her if she stayed behind, as no one protects a jackal's mate from a lion. She is tender and he is made for the forest, she says, yet it is right that he should do penance and she enjoy the comfort. If his heart does not break at such hard words, then he will have to bear the terrible pain of parting. सीता कहती हैं कि मार्ग में उन्हें थकान न होगी, क्योंकि हर पग पर वे प्रभु के चरण देखती चलेंगी। वे हर तरह से सेवा करेंगी: पेड़ की छाँह में पाँव धोएँगी, पंखा झलेंगी, रात को पाँव दबाएँगी। प्रभु के बिना उनकी रक्षा कौन करेगा, जैसे सिंह की वधू को सियार छू नहीं सकता। वे कोमल हैं और वन जाने के योग्य प्रभु हैं, फिर भी तप प्रभु के योग्य है और भोग उनके लिए, यह कैसे ठीक? इतने कठोर वचन सुनकर भी यदि प्रभु का हृदय नहीं फटा, तो बिछोह का भारी दुख सहना पड़ेगा।
