Chapter 69·Sītā is blessed by her mother-in-law·Verses 1–
Seeing the mother overcome with love, Rāma comforts her in many ways, but the moment of parting cannot be told. Then Sītā bows to her mother-in-law and says she is most unlucky, for fate has sent her to the forest at the time she should serve. She asks the mother not to be angry; the fault is in her own deeds. Kausalyā, hearing this, is deeply moved, takes her to her heart again and again, and gives her counsel and blessings, that her husband's good fortune stay as long as the Gaṅgā and Yamunā flow.
