जनमु जग जायँ
Lakṣmaṇa learns the news and runs to Rāma, distraught, shaking, with tears in his eyes, and grasps his feet. He cannot speak, but stands looking like a fish pulled out of water. In his heart he wonders whether Rāma will keep him at home or take him along. Seeing his brother with hands folded, Rāma, who knows what is right, speaks to him gently and tells him not to give way to love out of fear but to think of the end. A person who takes the word of mother, father, teacher and master on the head gains the reward of being born; otherwise the birth is lost.जब लक्ष्मण ने समाचार पाया तो व्याकुल होकर, काँपते, रोमांचित और आँखों में आँसू लिए दौड़े और राम के चरण पकड़ लिए। वे कुछ कह न सके, जल से निकाली मछली की तरह देखते खड़े रहे। मन में सोचते हैं कि रघुनाथ घर रखेंगे या साथ ले चलेंगे। भाई को हाथ जोड़े देखकर नीतिज्ञ राम ने कोमल वाणी में कहा कि प्रेम में आकर घबराओ मत, परिणाम सोचो। माता, पिता, गुरु और स्वामी की सीख को जो सिर पर रखता है, उसका जन्म सफल है, नहीं तो जन्म संसार में व्यर्थ जाता है।

जब लक्ष्मण ने समाचार पाया तो वे व्याकुल और उदास मुख लिए उठकर दौड़े। काँपते, रोमांचित, आँखों में आँसू भरे, उन्होंने अति प्रेम से अधीर होकर चरण पकड़ लिए।
When Lakṣmaṇa got the news, he ran up, pale and distraught, trembling and thrilled all over, with tears in his eyes, and took hold of Rāma's feet in deep, helpless love.

वे कुछ कह न सके, बस खड़े देखते रहे, जैसे बेचारी मछली जल से निकाल दी गई हो। हृदय में चिंता थी, 'विधाता क्या करेगा? मेरा सारा पुण्य समाप्त हो गया।
He could say nothing, and stood looking on, like a poor fish drawn out of the water. His heart was full of worry: 'What will fate do? All the good I had earned is spent.

३3मो कहुँ काह कहब रघुनाथा। रखिहहिं भवन कि लेहहिं साथा ॥राम बिलोकि बंधु कर जोरें। देह गेह सब सन तृनु तोरें ॥

नीति में कुशल राम ने कहा, शील, स्नेह और सरलता के सागर: 'भाई, प्रेम के वश डरो मत। मन में परिणाम समझकर उत्साह रखो।
Rāma, wise in what is right, spoke gently, kind, simple and a sea of joy: 'Brother, do not lose courage out of love. Think in your heart of the end, and be glad.
