The people make camp everywhere, and Bharata sees to the needs of all. After honouring the gods, the two brothers go to Rāma's mother. Bharata presses her feet with gentle words, honours all the mothers, hands them to Śatrughna's care and calls Guha. Slackened in body with love, he walks hand in hand with his friend and asks to be shown the place where Sītā, Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa slept that night, with his eyes full of tears. Guha takes him there at once, to the holy siṃśapā tree where Rāma rested, and Bharata lays himself flat on the ground in a bow.लोगों ने जहाँ-तहाँ डेरे डाल लिए और भरत ने सबकी खोज-खबर ली। देवताओं की सेवा करके और आज्ञा पाकर दोनों भाई राम की माता के पास गए। भरत ने उनके चरण दबाकर कोमल वचन कहे और सब माताओं का सम्मान किया, फिर माता की सेवा भाई को सौंपकर निषाद को बुलाया। प्रेम से शिथिल शरीर लिए वे मित्र का हाथ पकड़े चले और पूछा कि वह स्थान दिखाओ जहाँ सीता, राम और लक्ष्मण रात को सोए थे; यह कहते उनकी आँखों के कोए जल से भर गए। भरत की बात सुनकर निषाद दुखी हुआ और तुरन्त उन्हें वहाँ ले गया, जहाँ पवित्र शिंशपा के नीचे राम ने विश्राम किया था। भरत ने बड़े प्रेम और आदर से दण्डवत प्रणाम किया।

Pressing her feet and speaking gentle words, Bharata honoured every mother. Giving his brother the care of Rāma's mother, he himself called Guha.

३3चले सखा कर सों कर जोरें। सिथिल सरीर सनेह न थोरें ॥पूँछत सखहि सो ठाउँ देखाऊ। नेकु नयन मन जरनि जुड़ाऊ ॥
