Guha tells his brothers to be quick and get ready, and no one should lose heart at the order. All answer gladly that so it will be, each rousing the others. The Niṣādas go off saluting, all heroes who love battle. Remembering Rāma's lotus feet, they tie on their quivers and string their bows. They put on armour, set helmets on their heads and sharpen axes, bamboo spears and lances. One, very skilled at fending off swords, leaps as if he had left the ground for the sky. Each prepares his gear and band and goes to salute their chief Guha. Seeing them, Guha knows all to be fit warriors and honours each by name.
