Chapter 192·The omen and the old man·Verses 1–
The warriors say that by Rāma's glory and their lord's strength they will leave Bharata's army without men or horses. While alive, they will not step back, and they will fill the earth with trunks and heads. Seeing his band, Guha says to beat the war drum. As he speaks, a sneeze comes on the left, and the omen-readers say the field looks good. An old man weighs the omen and says they should meet Bharata, there will be no fight: Bharata goes to win Rāma back, and the omen says there is no strife. Guha agrees that the old man speaks well, because fools act in haste and regret it. To fight without knowing Bharata's nature and goodness would be a great loss. In the dohā he tells his men to hold the ferry and gather round. He will go and learn the secret of Bharata's heart, and will act as he finds him to be, friend, enemy or in between.
