The sadhak of this mantra must, in any circumstance whatsoever, help any person afflicted by anna — that is, by hunger — or whose thirst for water has greatly risen, even if that person is an enemy. One is never to see anyone hungry. If a hungry person is met, one is to help them with anna to the limit of one's capacity, and even if it is an animal that is hungry, one should give them one's support to whatever extent one's buddhi works at that moment, whatever capability one's body provides, and however financially able one is.
