Bhadrapada Maas Sadhanas: The Month's Full Practice Calendar

Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi to Chaturdashi is Vinayak Navratri — ten days the Telegram channel calls a window where Ganpati's various forms give ananta fal (endless fruit), and where his tantrik forms give even more specific results. No anushthan of any devata succeeds without Ganpati's prasannata first — even Jagadamba herself is said not to accept a puja that skips his worship.

The concrete daily act: tarpan with 12 knotted, rootless durva bunches, using the twelve names from the Sankatnashan Ganesh Stotra, plus archan with his shatanam and red flowers.

The public, pandal-style Ganesh Chaturthi most people know began as a Bal Gangadhar Tilak-era organising device to unite people publicly — home installation came later. But the older layer underneath it is bigger: Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha together give 24 chaturthis across the year, and a different form of Ganpati is worshipped on each one. Bhadrapada's is simply the most visible.

Ganpati's tantrik puja carries two components most sadhakas never learn — astra puja and naag puja. The astra puja vidhi is scheduled to be published before this Bhadrapada, specifically because it belongs to this month.

Khas-root deepdaan for Ganpati is good on any Chaturthi-to-Chaturdashi window, or even done daily — but done specifically in the month of Bhadrapada, it is called excellent above the ordinary.

A kavach made siddh in the Janmashtami window is said to give protection on mere smaran — remembering it — ever after. The vidhan is a full seven-day anushthan, not a single-day observance: begin from Bhadrapada Krishna Paksha Dwitiya, and carry it through to Navami, the day after Janmashtami. The kavach mool is first written on bhojpatra.

These two consecutive nights — Bhadrapada Krishna Chaturdashi (called Tara Chaturdashi, Aghor Chaturdashi, Bhoot Chaudas) and the Amavasya that follows (Kaushiki Amavasya, Aghor Amavasya) — are named as the highest tantrik-yielding nights of the tantra calendar, comparable to Kali Chaudas before Diwali. Every sadhaka doing serious upasana of a specific mahavidya or ishta is told this is the window to sit an anushthan in.

The Telegram channel's standing instruction for ordinary sadhakas on this maha-nisha is plain: whatever sadhana, anushthan or havan is connected to your own devata, do it at home that night.

For sadhakas of Bengal, Assam, and the northeast, Bhadrapada Amavasya is the day every serious tantrik of that lineage travels to Tarapith's mahashmashan — not because it is Tara Jayanti (it isn't), but for the anushthan and purashcharan the mahashmashan itself supports on this date.

Having completed the first stage of sadhana — mool mantra, stotra, dhyan mantra — the natural point to begin learning avaran puja (the worship of a devi's surrounding retinue of shaktis) is timed to this month's Kalika-Tara Jayanti window, not chosen arbitrarily.

Sawan is called too divine a month to spend on certain prayogs — save them for Bhadwari (Bhadrapada). Tara Chaturdashi and the Amavasya that follows are named as the window where those held-back prayog vidhis are actually done.

Where the Pitr are markedly dissatisfied — confirmed through a kundali reading showing Pitru Dosha — the full 16-day window from Bhadrapada Purnima to Sarva Pitru Amavasya is named as the correct span, not merely the last week. One concrete prayog: roughly 21 raisins and honey (at least 250g, set aside at once) offered daily in a small silver vessel, with agyaari.

Whether or not you carry a diagnosed dosha, the discourses hold that some good act for the pitrs is due across these 16 days regardless — not pujan alone, but daan, seva and satkarma alongside it. The simplest form given: a daily Gita path tied to your own ishta — Shiv Gita for Sadashiv, Shrimad Bhagavad Gita for Narayan.

Binding-type prayogs (whether the shakti bound is shubh or ashubh) are told to wait: doing them mid-Sawan, while comings and goings of shaktis are heaviest, risks breaking the very niyam that governs the shakti you're working with. Shravan Purnima is one safe tithi to do it on; Bhadrapada also carries one shubh tithi suited to it.

Kaul and Shakt-lineage sadhakas who hold anga-vidya siddhis transmitted through a munj (reed-fibre) janeu use Bhadrapada Amavasya specifically as the day to either relinquish that janeu or pass it on to a worthy shishya.

Asked when to install a newly acquired Durga vigraha and begin its seva-puja, the direct answer given was to wait — Bhadrapada is followed immediately by Pitru Paksha, so both are skipped, and Pratipada of Navratri is named as the correct day to install and begin worship.

A sadhaka who kept 15, 27, or all 30 days of Sawan sadhana and finds no visible result the moment Bhadrapada begins is warned specifically against concluding the practice failed. That immediate negativity is named as the actual danger — not the absence of a result.

A cautionary account is recounted of a sadhaka told by a self-styled tantrik that a single Tara Chaturdashi night's paid ritual would grant instant siddhi where months of his own effort hadn't. The night's genuine tantrik weight is exactly what such offers trade on — a reason for more scrutiny of who is officiating, not less.
