It is not granted immediately upon Tantric initiation — an aspirant must progress through preliminary practices; Mundamalas are used not only for Mahavidya and fierce sadhanas, but also in Virachara practices involving Yakshas, Gandharvas, Veeras, Bhairavas, and Kapalika sadhanas.
