A young child's kundali is not read; parents may do rudrabhishek on the child's behalf
Parents ask whether they can do Rudrabhishek and nine days of pujan for their four-year-old whose kundali shows Kaal Sarp Dosh. First, the speaker says, a four-year-old's kundali is not shown. The dosh of the bal-grahas is told once, when the janma kundali is first made at Shashthi and the like: the pandit says that at such-and-such ages up to thirteen, this shanti is to be had done. In between, no kundali is shown and nothing is read. Still, granting the dosh, the parents can do everything themselves — rudrabhishek and any pujan they wish, taking sankalp; and if it was told at the time of birth, that is fine, and a rudrabhishek by a pandit ji on any day of Shiv Navratri can be had.
Tetar: a son born after three daughters
A boy born as the fourth child after three daughters is called a tetar, the speaker says. Such a birth is held to bring kasht to the parents and to the elder brother — harm to health and to wealth. This is no kupratha; there has been a reason for it, it has stood in lok-prachalan, its dosh-nivritti exists, and it has also been seen that such a boy later becomes a cause of klesh in the family, especially for an elder brother or elder sister.
Who the Vansh Vriddhi Durga Kavach is for: blocked lineage, failed conception and miscarriage
The speaker says a family lineage can stop growing because of a Dosha in the birth chart (a cruel planet aspecting the fifth house), a dosha of the kul, or acts done by ancestors or by the person themselves, so that a medically sound couple still cannot have a child. In such a situation, he says, one should take refuge in Bhagwan Mahadev together with Bhagwati Jagdamba. The vidhan he teaches also applies when a pregnancy does form but then miscarries or repeatedly fails to hold. It must be done with complete surrender.
Vidhan for making the Vansh Vriddhi Durga Kavach siddha: seven days of 108 recitations
The speaker says the kavach must first be made siddha: recite the mool kavach 108 times daily from Ashtami to Chaturdashi of any month's Shukla or Krishna Paksha, at home or in a Durga temple, in yellow or red clothes, facing east or the murti, with two ghee lamps lit. Take a Sankalpa for the kavach's siddhi and a child; husband and wife both wear Kusha and a Pavitri ring first. Through each set of 108, a lotus flower, a whole bel fruit or an unbroken water-coconut stays in the right hand, counted with something else, and is then offered at Bhagwati's feet. A first Anushthana should reach at least 1100 recitations in all.
Protection of the child in the womb and after birth by continuing the Vansh Vriddhi Kavach

What are the causes of repeated miscarriage?
The case where a woman's pregnancy repeatedly falls. The speaker names three causes: that some dosha is present in that family, some matter of the pitrs; that an abhicharik condition has been fixed such that when the woman conceives she will see someone in a dream and the pregnancy will fall; and third, whether there is a medical reason or anything else, that she cannot conceive, or conceives but it does not hold and falls.
Is Surya upasana prescribed for obtaining children?
