Shiva's crescent moon: some Ganas of Mahadev act only during a partial eclipse
The speaker says a penumbral lunar Grahan falls on the coming Kartik Purnima. On Shiva's head sits a half moon — the dooj moon — not a full moon, and there are certain shaktis, certain Ganas of Mahadev, who become awake and bound to help, directly or indirectly, only when an eclipse is on and it is partial, not total. That makes this day a very special time: if a person wants Mahadev's help on that day and does the vidhan the speaker will give, then — if God wills and one's Prarabdha allows — the Ganas' help will surely come by Mahadev's kripa. How that help comes, he adds, depends on the person's Tapobal and bhakti.

But if you go by authenticity, since bathing in the morning has the greater importance, the Chaturdashi has indeed begun today at 4:15 pm — so tomorrow morning, after bathing, Harihar Janmotsav, Harihar Milan and whatever daan-punya is to be done for Vaikuntha Chaturdashi will be done.
