Where should someone who has done nothing so far begin?
Those who have done nothing at all should begin their sadhana with Bhagavan Ganpati — you may begin with Lakshmi Ganpati ji — or you may begin with Bhagavan Dattatreya; you may do the Dattatreya mala mantra and the rest. You may perform the dev deeksha vidhan on the day of Dhanteras, on the day of the Amavasya Kaal Ratri, on the day of Dooj, and on Akshay Navami which is coming; and you may do the guru varan of Bhagavan Dattatreya and then their sadhana. Or, if you are a new sadhak, you may begin the Sankat Nashan sadhana of Ganpati ji — first of all you should certainly do the Ganpati guru sadhana; otherwise do the sadhana of Bhairav ji, if you are doing an initial sadhana.
What is akshaya punya, and how can an akshaya sin cancel it?
The speaker points to Akshay Navami, Akshay Tritiya, the sandhi kaal puja and the maharatri of Maha Ashtami, the mahanisha, of which it is said that puja done in them gives akshaya punya and japa gives akshaya fruit. But a person may equally have committed an akshaya sin at the same time — stealing a lota into his bag on Akshay Navami while the shopkeeper turned away. His sin too became akshaya in that very time.
