This short āhnika describes the entry into one's own nature (svasvarūpapraveśa) as a graded ascent through the means already taught. The seeker who has practised the āṇava way — the way of the limited individual, taught in so many forms — enters it again and again and then comes to rest in the ground of śakti, the way of knowledge; from there he rises to the ground of Śambhu, the way of the will. Filled step by step with the rays of awakening, he finally needs no means at all and enters for ever into his own self, which holds the whole universe within it.

Now the entry into one's own nature is described; it comes next in order. The āṇava way — the way of the limited individual — has been taught in many forms for reaching Śiva-hood. Having entered into it again and again, one should come to rest in the level that lies next to it.

Then, leaving the āṇava way behind, one should take shelter in the ground of śakti, the way of knowledge. Then, from there, in the ground of Śambhu, the way of the will. Thus one clearly rises step by step, from lower to higher.

In this way, the seeker comes to share in the state of Bhairava, whose whole expanse is filled by the great rays of awakening that have risen step by step. In the end, needing no means at all, he enters for ever into his own self — the self which holds the whole universe within it.
