Nārada asks what became of Menā and Himācala after their marriage. Brahmā tells how, in time, Viṣṇu and the other gods came to Himācala, who honoured them with great devotion. Reminding him of Satī's death at Dakṣa's sacrifice and her resolve to return, the gods ask his leave to entreat her to be reborn as his daughter; Himācala gladly assents. The gods then approach Umā herself, offering an extended hymn of praise naming her as the power behind every faculty, element, and scripture, before standing in hope of her darśana.
